So today I received the "Team Over Self" recognition award in the EMEA Salesloft Quarterly Awards. It's been three months since the announcement of Salesloft acquiring Drift, a Salesloft company and we role grew to lead EMEA Partnerships in the new organisation, and what a three months its been. Anyone who has been through an acquisition of any kind knows it is pretty full on! but I've been fortunate to have been able to play a role in bringing the two teams and companies together AND to be able to help shape what partnership looks like especially in EMEA. One thing that has blown me away has been the EMEA team in general, not only have they been incredibly welcoming, but the level of excitement and keenness to lean in around partnerships has frankly been unlike anything I have seen in my 25 year career. As an example, we held our ENT QBR's in our London office yesterday and every .... single .... presentation had an element of wanting to work with the partnerships team, every one! Building effective relationships is my passion (or my superpower as others have said) so to get recognition for doing something you love doing is a bit weird!. To not only have the support of all aspects of the company but to have them offering to work WITH me to build OUR partnership ecosystem and to get "shit done" has been incredible. Gratitude time! ..... 100 days in to my role as Agency Director at Endurance Zone and not only have I been busy delivering campaigns for brands (more on that in a future post) and also revenue for our clients but I've also grown individually. Today I had the absolute privilege of sharing my thoughts on partnership sales with the very talented team at Sweatcoin - one of our most important clients. When Kieron Treanor asked me to share some of my thoughts and experiences with the team there, I initially thought 'yeah, no problem, I can tell them about some of the great deals I've been part of over my career, some of my successes and some of my (not too many) failures'. But actually when I really thought about it, the question I actually kept asking myself was 'what is my philosophy on sales and on relationship building'. And what came through loud and clear to me when I sat down to consider that question was that the answer was also consistent with who I am as a person, as a human being. And that is that I believe in honesty, in respect and in integrity, and that being a curious person is a damn good thing. If you keep those three pillars at the forefront of how you conduct yourself professionally (and personally for that matter) then you won't go far wrong - and if you have a curious mind, not only will you learn a whole lot, but you'll meet some great people.
