Shri Arvind Kumar, DG STPI shared his perspective in Q & A session on Democratizing of Entrepreneurship in TiE Global Summit, 2024. He congratulated TiE Bangalore for organizing TGS 2024 and aptly described the conference as a "Sangam" of entrepreneurship, where TiE serves as Saraswati, sharing knowledge, while STPI and the Karnataka Government represent the Ganga and Yamuna of the summit. He highlighted following key points: ➡️STPI, through its 65 centers and 24 CoEs, is fostering translational research to drive startup growth. ➡️He emphasized the need to utilize Indian capital instead of relying on foreign funding to fund startups. ➡️He outlined that more than 50 percent startups are emerging from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Privy to a top-notch panel today on the Role and impact of #Incubators & #Accelerators, as part of NICEorg - Network of Indian Cultural Enterprises Samanway 2024 . The session was fantastically moderated by Sanjay Anandaram, who brought out compelling shares from its notable panels. Some takeaways: Venk Krishnan, Founder of NuVentures (early stage VC) spoke about the #marketlinkages being key, and the importance of VCs rolling up their sleeves with connects but being at the table when the startup is pitching to the customer. Suresh Krishna, Chair, Global Leadership Team Funds, Yunus Social Business, on the other hand spoke about ensuring #socialobjectives of an enterprise is met. The value is equally distributed to all those who matter. Kunal R Sachdev, the CEO of Renaissance Craft Venture Builder Pvt Ltd, shares revolved around #customercentricity - the kind of inventions, sensitizations and training required to move companies up the value-chain. The stressed on entrepreneurs have to ensure global #qualitystandards. Ismail Akbani, the CEO of AIC Mahindra (Hyderabad based), brought forward the benefit of the Atal Incubator Cells (AICs) with Academic, along with the combination of the Industry's active support. A PhD himself, Ismail elaborated on how they work closely with Tech Mahindra & Mahindra Group, to add value. He mentioned about training faculty of institutions like IIT-Madras and others, to work on structured product monetization, engaging with markets, and customer side, or least creating tech transfer opportunities, beyond papers and patents. My final takeaway - An audience delegate asked if stakeholders and supporters could be generous when it came to brand building of a company, citing the examples of #FabIndia (began in 1960) and #JaipurRugs (began in 1978), the consensus seemed, what would then have taken 50 years, now would take 10 years and less. 🙏 Namaste, esteemed members of the LinkedIn community! I am thrilled to share that I recently had the privilege to co-present on the intriguing topic "Challenges and Opportunities for Semiconductor Startups in India" alongside my peers at IIM Rohtak on the occasion of the event "India’s Techade - Chips for Viksit Bharat.” Our presentation provided a comprehensive exploration into the fusion of two of the most important buzzwords of recent times - “STARTUPS” and “SEMICONDUCTORS.” Addressing the hurdles encountered by semiconductor startups in India illuminated the daunting journey they embark upon, characterized by steep costs, infrastructural constraints, and fierce global competition. Reflecting on this event, I am grateful for the invaluable learning it bestowed upon me. Not only did it expand my knowledge base, but it was also a wonderful opportunity to test out my mettle as a public speaker. I am relieved to say that I ALMOST passed my self-imposed test with flying colours (if not for the minor brain fade moments that I had while presenting😅 ). Nevertheless, it was a fulfilling experience that not only gave me new aspects to work on as a speaker but, more importantly, it reaffirmed my love for presentations and public speaking 🎤 As I conclude, I'm reminded of the profound potential India's tech ecosystem holds, and I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and innovation within the semiconductor startup landscape. As the founder of Piotech INDIA and a representative of Galgotias University as a startup, I found myself amidst brilliant minds and passionate hearts, all united under one roof to shape the future of our economy. Did you know that #MSMEs are the backbone of India, contributing nearly 30% to our GDP and providing jobs to over 110 million people? This statistic isn't just a number— it's a testament to the incredible impact that small and medium enterprises have on our lives and our nation’s growth. The two-day summit was more than just an event; it was a melting pot of ideas and innovations. #AIM 2.0 It is absolutely delightful and inspiring to see the Government of India’s commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship across the length amd breadth of our country in the renewal and expansion of the Atal Innovation Mission Official and the granting of a sizeable budget supporting #AIM2.0 for the same. Indeed the Atal Innovation Mission Official under the auspices of the NITI Aayog Official has been one of the most unique initiatives anywhere in the world by any government, to truly #democratise #innovation from the labs to kirana stores and even your home , inspiring a #problemsolving innovative #mindset in both the young and the old, in schools, universities, research institutions, NGOs, investment firms, industry, government and academia This has resulted to date in over 10000 #AtalTinkeringLabs, over 100 #Atalincubators, over 25 #Atalcommunityinnovationcenters, and initiated several ministries to support the same like iDEX Defence Innovation Organization for Department of Defence and so on. The fact that India has reached a position of 39 in the #GlobalInnovationIndex from a position of 81 in 2016 is a remarkable testimony of various Govt of India initiatives in this regard More importantly it has created a #scalable #sustainable model for adoption by various institutions and the private sector on their own to replicate and create #socioeconomic impact over the next decade in India and globally With over 5 million plus school students.
