Do you remember the excitement of doing something for the first time? I recently had the chance to attend my first startup showcase, thanks to African Angel Academy. The event featured 15 inspiring startups from across Africa, and it was an eye-opening experience. I connected with brilliant founders and angel investors, all working on groundbreaking solutions. As part of the experience, I was tasked with selecting two startups. My top picks were: 1. Loop Pet Food: A Kenyan company led by Laura Stanford, Amit Grabovski and team innovating with local ingredients, to create balanced dry pet food. 2. X-VSN Illuminate: A South African startup founded by Janet Sawari offering a cost-effective solution for real-time CCTV footage analysis, enhancing security and operational compliance. Check out the accompanying blog post for a look into why the startups stand out https://lnkd.in/d22x2Kdq For investors, scouts, and even founders, do you remember the first startup you believed in and championed?
