So what does a coach need to coach? In short, a coach needs to be 'qualified.' 'Qualified' means having the right knowledge, skills and behaviours assessed against the standards for coaching set for our sector. It also means you need to be current. Being current means up to date. The new standards require that coaches keep themselves up to date with both what and how they coach. Finally, coaches are busy people, it is important that they can access their learning and development in a timely and flexible way to fit in with their busy lifestyles.
