𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻, 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗜𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿... ...𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦 (𝘊𝘝)? Before I even had my first sip of Java this morning, I decided to update my résumé on LinkedIn. Big mistake. No matter how hard I searched, I couldn’t find the elusive spot to upload it. And no, let’s not let our minds wander too far on this one… 😏 You’d think LinkedIn (𝘵𝘩𝘦 platform for professionals) would make this process intuitive. Instead, it felt like they wanted me to earn my stripes by pulling my hair out first! 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲: 1. Click “𝗠𝗲” in the navigation bar. 2. Select “𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 & 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆” from the dropdown menu. 3. Under “𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆” (on the 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗿), scroll down to “𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.” 4. Finally, click “𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲” under “𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝘀.” That’s a lot of steps for something that should be a simple 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 task. Wouldn’t it be easier (and kinder) to just have a button on your profile that says “𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 (𝗖𝗩)”? Come on, LinkedIn - you can do better! Hope this also helps you! #LinkedIn #ResumeStruggles #ProfessionalNetworking #UXDesign #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #Frustration #TechTalk #DigitalLife #ProfessionalTips #JobSeekers
Uploading one's resume does NOT 'overwrite' their profile, does it?
This is extremely helpful. Thank you. 😊

1dThis morning I figured out another place you can put your resumé (cv) if you want it seen in your profile. Just add it to the Featured section of your main profile.
