Aerial Door Gunnery Training has historically been conducted with stationary targets; this changes now. Pratt Miller’s Trackless Moving Targets (TMT) can be easily upfit with an armor kit to protect the training assets from higher angles of engagement with .50 CAL and 7.62 minigun. TMTs come in vehicle representative sizes and in human representative sizes. Combining these targets in a training mission for Search and Rescue, as one example, allows pilots and gunners to engage moving targets and make real time decisions as the scenario unfolds. Check out this video that the USAF made during a training rotation. https://lnkd.in/dskh2fYd #InnovationInAction #TrainingSolutions #IITSEC2024 #IITSEC

From AI controlled fighter jets to DARPAs new autonomous tank, humans are rapidly building a Skynet military. Where is the human control? How do humans keep the upper hand with these autonomous weapons? How do we keep these weapons in check so they can't be hacked or misused? And what's the deal with the glowing green eyes? https://lnkd.in/gi3tsG8G

#RCV The U.S. Army announces Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) Software Pathway (SWP) Industry Day The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide a common understanding of autonomous movement as it relates to the RCV Capability Needs Statement (CNS) and is intended to provide interested companies with a technology roadmap, so each company can make its best effort to align their technology against timing of future opportunities nested with the forecasted needs of the RCV program. The Industry Day will clarify key points and provide updates regarding the RCV Platform as it relates to tele-operation and growth to autonomous movement. This will be a Distribution Statement A level briefing; however, copies of the briefing will not be distributed. Interested organizations can register at the below registration site by 3PM ET on 15 November 2024. Non-NAMC members must provide an active DD2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreement, as part of their registration.

Control systems are everywhere! They range from simple “bang-bang” room and oven thermostat controls all the way to semi- and fully-autonomous vehicles and super-advanced aircraft flight controls for commercial and military applications. There are plenty of examples in between like automotive speed (“cruise”) control and machine tools. Here at FPrin we often get involved in challenging control system applications – for example thermal system control using thermo-electric coolers. Our own Liam Parrish has a wide range of practical and academic experience with control systems and has written a brief introduction to model-predictive control. Enjoy! #controlsystems #complexsystems #systemdynamics
