Individual aberrations occur in both and interact with each other. As usually the aberrations of the sample under test are unknown, it is impossible to predict their interaction. The only way to measure MTF precisely is to use measurement optics that are optimized for MTF measurement. At TRIOPTICS we have many years of experience with MTF measurement and are aware of this issue. Therefore, we use diffraction limited measurement optics that are optimized for accurate MTF measurement.
