This concept is dead simple. When people start something new, they ALWAYS fall into one of these three buckets: 1. Drive-by: "I just want to see what this thing is like"  2. Maximum effort: "I really want to do this. And I really need to do this too. I have no other option." 3. Confused and overwhelmed: "I want to do this, but doing something new is almost more difficult than keeping things the way they are." The #1 mistake we find when we're debugging an onboarding flow? Overwhelming new users with a laundry list of features. That's not the way to get users to see value in your product. (Trust us, less is actually more—you've just got to figure out the "less" your users need to see.) Testing your own software has its place, but launching an MVP and giving it to real users, that’s when you really start learning. While onboarding the first users to PressHub I observed a small bottleneck during the signup flow. When users reached the point where they enter their chosen subdomain, a few were adding the entire web address e.g. ‘subdoman . presshub . site’ rather than just their ‘subdomain’. I had some tooltip text above the input box to explain what the subdomain is but it’s always better to show, rather than tell. So I’ve made a small tweak to the UI. Appending the text ‘. presshub . site’ to the end of the input box so users can see what their full URL will look like. Nothing groundbreaking, but I'm going for the power of tiny gains, improving the platform 1% everyday.
