As Chief of Protocol, one of my biggest challenges is navigating the tricky waters of gift-giving, especially when it comes to ORF-eligible gifts. And here in Okinawa, it gets even more complicated - giving an Okinawa-made gift to a local would be considered taboo. But yesterday's gift of custom-made, hand-painted sugar cookies was a huge success! Not only did I get to support a USMC spouse's business, but I also found a way to give a food gift that qualified under ORF (which is no small feat). It's moments like these that make me love my job - finding creative solutions to tricky problems and supporting local businesses at the same time. #protocol #giftgiving #supportlocal #supportmilspouses #ORFeligible https://lnkd.in/gXuVHTnz

Today is LOAD day. That means my household goods (HHG) go on a moving truck today. **We’ve moved 3 of the past 4 summers. This is the third move in just 36 months.** My load team doesn’t start until after lunch, so I’m at elementary school celebrations with our oldest. (He is leaving his 4th school as he finishes 5th grade). Just to the left of this picture is 100 kids yelling and laughing and bowling and loving their last days together- many of whom are also military kids. **Our story is not unique. It’s like so many of our peers.** When I #advocate for quality of life for #militaryfamilies, I’m advocating for moments of stability and normalcy. Moments to attend field trips and create regular childhood memories. Because being a military family is hard enough without needing to worry about basic needs like putting food on the table. Sadly, for 1 in 4 active duty families serving our country, they’re balancing this chaotic life with the reality of #foodinsecurity (aka not sure if they can put enough food on the table tonight). **If you’d like to know how to help military families facing food insecurity, check out MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), National Military Family Association, Stronghold Food Pantry, or Military Family Advisory Network for the most urgent policy changes, community connection ideas, and latest research.

Jonathan Castillo US Army Warrior Rescue (501c3 Nonprofit) Heard something yesterday in regards to PTS/PTSD that’s been on my mind and kept me up all night: Cast take for my active duty folks/vets: You don’t have to see “combat” to have/had stressors in your life or don’t have/had to see “combat” to “talk to somebody.” Sometimes life sucks, it’s stressful at times, go talk to somebody if you need to vent. The military has resources for everyone, they do, leaders look for them and teach/help our folks. If your folks get “turned back” don’t sit back and do nothing, if you do nothing, you are the problem. Stop, listen to understand, not to answer back, understand the situation and take action. Take your ID Card out of your computer, get up and do something. They came to your door for a reason. If you are in uniform discrediting our military and available resources, and haven’t done anything to address the problem/issue, you are the problem too, I said it. If you think leading soldiers stops at 1700, we need to talk. If anybody out there needs help and has reached tracer burn out, call me, don’t Facebook call me, call my personal cell number: 512-289-7559 I’m not going to save the universe but I’m going to die trying, who’s coming? #lostigres #loveendlessly #strongertogether #theyarewatching #dobetter #ivebeenmentoredbygiants #hondotxhasmyheart #sgmapproved

To all agents looking for opportunities to reach and connect to more people. This is an excellent representation of building community, understanding needs and pain points. Now how can you piggyback on the mission and values demonstrated here to build your business?
For veterans and first responders experiencing post-traumatic stress, a supportive community can help the healing process. 𝚃𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝚌𝚢𝚌𝚕𝚎 Eggs: The colony begins! Queen termites lay thousands of eggs, hatching into workers, soldiers, and future kings and queens. Nymphs: These tiny larvae grow into different roles, becoming workers or soldiers as the colony needs. Workers & Soldiers: The backbone of the colony! Workers feed and build, while soldiers defend against intruders. Reproductive Termites: Swarmers leave the colony to start new infestations elsewhere—don't let them target your home! #arshservices #pestcleaning #pestcontrol #cleaning
