Why a Modi Win with Fewer Than 300 Seats in 2024 Appeals to the West The West views a more modest victory for Narendra Modi in the 2024 Indian elections as beneficial. Modi’s independent stance on global issues, notably his refusal to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and circumventing Western sanctions, has irked the US and its allies. This independent approach challenges Western interests, especially amidst the geostrategic tension of the China-Russia axis. The US values India as a counterweight to China and as a partner in its Indo-Pacific strategy. However, Washington prefers working with more pliant leaders in the Global South. A landslide victory for Modi, securing over 320 seats, could further embolden his independent policies, impacting key issues like climate change and the Russia-Ukraine war. Despite tensions, the US recognizes the necessity of a stable partnership with India. A strong yet less dominant BJP win, with 280-300 seats, could make Modi more accommodative to Western interests. The geopolitical dilemma for the West lies in balancing the threat from the China-Russia-Iran-North Korea axis and the emerging influence of the Global South, with India as a pivotal player. India’s strategic location and growing military capabilities enhance its significance. As the 2024 elections approach, Modi’s participation in the G7 Summit and the tactical handling of bilateral relations indicate the West's interest in a stable yet manageable Indian leadership. For Modi, a clear majority could facilitate domestic and economic reforms, aiming for a $7 trillion economy by 2029. However, a reduced margin could trigger internal party debates and shape the future political landscape. In summary, the West would prefer a stable but less dominant Modi administration to ensure cooperation on global issues while maintaining strategic balance.

Greetings everyone The Trump vs Kamala Harris US presidential election is a hot topic, especially when considering its impact on India. From an Indian perspective, the outcome of this election will significantly affect India-US bilateral ties in defense, trade and many other sectors. The Indian diaspora in the US plays a crucial role in shaping US politics and policies related to US-India relations. With around 5 million people in the US identifying as being of Indian descent, their engagement in bilateral issues could be influenced by the election results. *Key Areas of Impact:* - Bilateral Ties: The relationship between India and the US will depend on the next US President's priorities and sense of India's role in them. - Trade: Bilateral trade between India and the US remains a cornerstone of their relationship, with $118 billion worth of goods and services exchanged in FY 2023-24. - Geopolitics: The US stance on China, Russia, Israel and other regional issues could affect India's strategic partners and moves. - Indo-Pacific(south asia): The US considers India a contributor to regional deterrence in the context of China's increased assertiveness. In terms of economic impact, Kamala Harris presidency is expected to add more jobs and increase household disposable income compared to a Trump presidency. Whereas on the other side people have also considered the illegal migrants issues and the open borders not being treated well up to the mark by the current presidency. How you all think this US election could affect the future geopolitical scenario and create (if any) possible impact on India? #USA #INDIA #ELECTIONS #students #perspective #ICAI #CA #5th #5november

The US Presidential elections are not just a local affair; they have the potential to send ripples across the globe, particularly affecting countries like India. With the world's largest economy and a significant military presence, the policies and strategies adopted by the United States can influence a myriad of sectors, including trade, defense, and foreign relations. The stakes of the US Presidential elections extend far beyond American borders. As the elections draw near, the uncertainty surrounding the outcome creates a buzz in global markets. The potential for policy shifts can lead to speculation and volatility, affecting investors and businesses in India. The direction of trade policies under either candidate could have a profound effect on Indian exports, particularly in sectors like IT, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. And ponder about investments; changes in US policy could either enhance or hinder foreign direct investment, especially in technology and renewable energy, where the US is a key investor. Even beyond Indian shores, the US plays a pivotal role in global politics, and its stance on issues such as defense and alliances can significantly affect India’s strategic positioning. The nature of US-India defense relations may shift depending on the election outcome, and beyond that, the US's approach to countries like China and Pakistan will influence India’s security dynamics. As the US presidential elections approach, the implications for India are multifaceted and complex. The outcome will undoubtedly shape trade relationships, economic growth, and geopolitical dynamics. Whether it’s the aggressive policies of Trump or the more collaborative approach of Harris, India must navigate these changes strategically. Ultimately, in politics, the only certainty is uncertainty—so buckle up, keep your eyes on the news, and be ready to pivot as the political winds shift. Trump vs Harris: What’s At Stake For India In The 2024 U.S. Presidential Election? With the U.S. Presidential Election just weeks away, the race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump remains too close to call. Harris is leading in some national polls, while Trump holds an edge in others, particularly in key swing states. This election holds significant implications for India. While Trump has fostered strong ties with Prime Minister Modi, focusing on defense cooperation and countering China, his protectionist trade policies could pose challenges for India's economy. Harris, despite her Indian roots, may emphasize human rights issues, while continuing the Biden administration's strategic stance on China and Russia. Both candidates promise different futures for U.S.-India relations—one marked by strategic cooperation with potential trade hurdles, the other by balanced diplomacy with a focus on global partnerships. #kamalaharris #donaldtrump #trumpvsharris #uselections2024 #globalpolitics #rizingtv

Policymakers in New Delhi are among the least concerned about the outcome of the US presidential election in November. This comes as there is a high degree of bipartisan consensus in Washington on deepening relations with #India. While there are differences in the details of both presidential candidates’ approaches towards India, the bilateral relationship will continue to deepen. However, there are potential risks on the horizon arising from a mismatch of expectations. Three key pillars have defined #US engagement with India in the post-Cold War period – India’s status as the world’s largest democracy; India as a bulwark against the rise of China; and India as an engine of global growth. All three pillars are open to a degree of scrutiny. My Chatham House ‘Expert Comment’ discusses this in the context of the upcoming US presidential election: https://lnkd.in/eCRPumcm

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮-𝗨.𝗦. 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? With Donald Trump’s 2024 election win, Prime Minister Modi has extended a hand to rekindle the warm rapport both leaders once shared. This renewed partnership could set the stage for deeper Indo-U.S. collaboration—especially in defense, tech, and countering regional influences. As India aims to strengthen its global stance, Trump’s focus on bilateral agreements might be a double-edged sword, presenting both strategic openings and protectionist hurdles. While “America First” policies may benefit Silicon Valley’s engagement with India, they also bring potential trade tensions and immigration restrictions that could impact Indian professionals and exporters. Yet, if Mr. Modi and Mr. Trump can leverage their relationship to navigate these complexities, they might just forge a path to a resilient Indo-U.S. alliance. Modi Muzzles Up! Why India’s Leaders Won’t Blast Biden’s ‘Xenophobic’ Slur? – OpEd Eurasia Review, June 30, 2024 By Debashis Chakrabarti In an era where diplomatic exchanges are increasingly conducted in the public eye, the conspicuous silence from India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in response to US President Joe Biden’s recent “xenophobic” remark about India has raised international eyebrows. This silence is not merely a diplomatic choice; it’s a strategic and calculated move shaped by a complex web of political, economic, and social factors. What drives this silence, and what does it reveal about India’s current political landscape? #biden#xenophobic#modi#jaishankar#humanrights
