Where are the ROS jobs in industry in Germany (or Europe)? 🤖 I've heavily invested in learning ROS (Robot Operating System) during my studies, only to find that many industry positions here aren't asking for it. With ROS being a powerful tool for robotics development, I'm surprised to see it primarily limited to research roles. Why are industries sticking with traditional systems instead of embracing modern, open-source solutions like ROS? One of my favorite in-person demos is watching Boston Dynamics Stretch Robot in action. These systems have now been deployed into warehouses and 3PL facilities to unload thousands of trailers. Companies like DHL are constantly looking at new ways to integrate automation and robotics into their supply chain. They have invested in a diverse amount of robotics companies, including: 🤖 Boston Dynamics: With $15 Million into Stretch's autonomous trailer unloading. 🤖 Locus Robotics: DHL has deployed 5,000 of the LocusBots since 2023 🤖 AutoStore™: They have partnered on global warehousing with over 1,000 robots deployed in the fleet.
