Bubbles in Soho > circling back on emails
We took one evening to hit pause and celebrate 2024 at our Partner Christmas Lunch with the people who made it all happen.
Big wins, bold moves, and connections that mean something–none of it would’ve been possible without our incredible team and partners.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, including ❤️ Williams Stanley and Co, Goodwille.NoBlue2, MHA, Buzzacott, Menzies LLP, and MacroFin.
Here’s to an even better 2025… and a few more bottles popped along the way 🍾
Are you celebrating anything this week?
We're all about celebrating here at Acknowledge (obviously!) whether that's via the deal tombstones or awards or even framed cartoons about your deal closure. Whilst it's great to celebrate the big things it's important to celebrate those small wins - so let us know in the comments below

Be like Wes.
In 2025, I’m inviting 17 old and new friends to join me at the family farm.
Completely selfless (misspelling - selfish) move on my part.
My son-in-law (Nashville singer songwriter w/a man bun & loves my daughter) and I will invite others with musical chops to record a song together.
I will handle the cooking. I went to Culinary School and you’ll eat my paper plate meals and think WHAT?
Get jacked on Guinness Stout 0 (NA) and HopWtr.
I kind of want to invest in some people I think are LinkedIn talented but want to support in real life.
Launch a new merch line together?
Ideate a new community?
Get a tattoo with my 84 year old mom?
Get personal round the fire pit.
I’ll have Paul, our Art Director (FEED), make a documentary of the 5 days that will make us cry and laugh.
When we launched The Content Crib 2.0 (25-26 October) and The Content Crib 3.0 (Feb 11-12 2025) we sold out 2.0 quickly and are rapidly filling up 3.0.
I need community. You can’t pay me to attend a tradeshow, but I’ll build a version of Woodstock on the land that Grandpa Scott raised Black Angus.
I think LinkedIn can foster a virtual supportive community and build friendships that meet in person.
I want to be like Wes next year. Feels like I’m supposed to charge up the Rivian + Lightship camper and meet folks where they live, work, and play.
What inspires you to be in community?
What happens when we ask our founders 23 questions to celebrate 23 years in the biz? Plenty of laughs, memories… and, of course, a little bit of chaos.
We're celebrating the moments that have shaped who we are as we look ahead to some big things in the new year. 🎬

Sunday was St Patrick’s day. A global day of celebration of Irish culture which feels like it’s getting bigger each and every year in its scale.
So what better day to jump in, join the fun and see if you can get people to reappraise what they drink … and whether there might be more than Guinness to enjoy.
That’s what Kahlua did. And people loved it.
🎉 The atmosphere/ambience, infectious enthusiasm, jolly
🎻 The music (contributing to the above)
🤣 Funny - the story, the facial expressions, the Tucan, the twist
😯 Surprise/curve ball - the moment of him turning round with a cocktail, the play on Guinness
🍸 The twist on tradition and acceptance - celebrating non conformity, affectionate
It also gives them a powerful positive association or space to be part of the big event. Being a part of St Patrick’s day.
This all meant that the ad was seen as incredibly well loved, resonant, highly distinctive and really did make people who wouldn’t have considered Kahlua pre seeing the ad actually want to try it. Only 3% considered the brand before being exposed to the ad in the middle of programming surrounded by other ads …. And after, 22% would consider it.
Now to the elephant in the room. Not everyone realised or remembered it was a Kahlua ad. We show the ad as part of an ‘ad break’ with other ads in the middle of programming then ask what brands people remember being advertised. The number mentioning Kahlua is less than we’d often see. BUT - there is an additional 10% who talked about espresso martini (which benefits Kahlua).
Inevitably …. There are also 7% who remember Guinness.
Now we could see that as a really bad thing … or we could weigh up a few things:
- It’s a smaller brand. They have a lot to gain by being part of St Patrick’s day, being another drink to consider, being humorous, being an accepted drink.
- The way it positions Kahlua cleverly as an alternative. An attractive one. A fun one. An accepted one is very clever.
- Is Guinness really a competitor? Or given the number who do get the brand, is attaching the love so many feel for Guinness powerful?
- Could Kahlua habit stack on Guinness as James Clear would say? When you’ve had enough Guinness you move seamlessly to Kahlua or an espresso martini
I say well done to Kahlua, Pernod Ricard and Wieden + Kennedy

A few proud comments about my company:
There are a lot of companies that offer software as a service products to health plans… but to the best of my knowledge, Beacon Healthcare Systems is the example where the core of the company and all of the initial products werecompliance.
They foundational focus on compliancechanges everything we do, from a deep focus on data lineage built into the software, to our sensitivity to our clients compliance controls needs now, as well as over the next years.
If you’re doing an RFP or RFI, or maybe you’re just a bit unhappy with your current solution and would like to take a look at something different…you owe it to yourself to take a quick look at the products from Beacon Healthcare Systems… Truly differentiated.
BD Consultant for mid-size law firms l Helping partners & associates win more business using sustainable BD strategies & tools l Ex top 25 UK law firm | Ex Legal 500 | Expat in France 🇫🇷
BD professionals are the unsung heroes of law firms, in my opinion.
A couple of times a year, I work in-house at different law firms, operating as a member of their team, covering a resource gap or running a standalone project.
I love these types of roles but they do come with their own challenges.
The one thing I always see clearly whenever I go back ‘in’ is the sheer volume of requests that BD professionals are faced with on a daily basis.
The number of plates they have spinning is incredible.
🎯 Pitches
🎯 Webinars, seminars & events
🎯 Sponsorships
🎯 Awards submissions
🎯 Memberships
🎯 BD plans
🎯 Training
🎯 Research
🎯 Directories
🎯 Partner/associate coaching
They’re everywhere all at once and usually for multiple practice areas and sectors at a time.
This is just a shout-out to all of those BD professionals - I see how hard you’re working, and I see that strategic lynchpin role you’re playing 🙌
Lawyers, your BD team is gold and is involved in much more than you’re likely aware of. Please value them.
I started the week with a wonderful testimonial, so it feels right to end it on a celebration.
Happy Friday ☀️

Today was one of those days where you feel uber favored by Divinity and in perfect alignment with your purpose. So many close calls and moments when I thought the day could fall apart. But it just kept getting better.
Shoutout to my team. Shoutout to my new friends from Ebony & Louise’s important event.
I’m grateful to our hosts and all my co-panelists for all the things you taught us and all the ways you challenged me to sharpen my voice. I’m grateful for all of you who came to engage in some deep and radical conversation post-event.
I’m grateful to Maxim Thorne for your constructive feedback. I want those I engaged with today to know: I don’t seek to minimize the level of terror that the white structure has exacted on our communities every time we have built power. I have agitated about that for as long as I can remember.
But now, the only thing that excites me is immersing myself in the truth of our infinite collective power. The truth of our incredible capacity to overthrow systems of oppression with love, strategy and unrelenting precision.
I do not believe that they are more powerful than us. I can never believe that. They’ve only been able to back us into these corners because of our lack of unity and awareness of our power.
They know our power more than we do. And they fear it. Which is why they work so hard—with generations-long strategies—to suppress us.
But we have overcome. The very fact that we continue to lead culture just by existing should show us that WE are THEIR North Star.
Please, let us continue to have these conversations. Let us continue us continue to build bigger, dream wilder. We owe it to our Ancestors and to our descendants.
PS: please send me pics!

Some cool ideas here:
- Pause and reflect after your wins (and after challenging moments)
- List 10 ideas on how to solve a challenge, don't stop with just 2
- The "wonder wander" (you have to read for that one)
- Ask ChatGPT what projects would impress your boss
These ideas mostly fall into the "simple" category.
You likely have the skill to do them.
The question is, do you have the will?
Growth requires doing something different.
Ever have that "only as good as your last win" feeling?
It's hard not to. We swipe and click, seeing everyone else’s wins at lightening speed. We face pressure at work. Our successes can feel great in the moment, but then the comedown hits. We wonder: am I going to be able to pull it off again?
My column this week is all about how to ride the roller coaster of work, sustaining your creativity and sense of self no matter what praise or wins you're racking up in the moment -- or not. (I wish someone had explained to me earlier in my career that the lows are just part of the deal -- and also, not *that* big of a deal.)
Click through for advice and stories and tell me: how do you block out the noise and enjoy the ride that is having a career?
