🎒 Unveiling Support Counseling Chat: A Modern Approach 🚀 A solution driven to impact School Counselor workflow and meet students' emotional and well-being demands immediately when needed. 🤖 Human vs. Artificial Intelligence: Our Choice In time and space of on-the-spot chat support, we've made a conscious decision to prioritize human connection over artificial intelligence. While AI might boast speed and precision in certain domains, its ability to deeply understand nuanced mental health issues pales in comparison to genuine human interaction and lived experiences. Is it Teletherapy? 💻 Not quite. Teletherapy is utilized when clinical needs are identified beyond low acuity symptoms and merit a face-to-face interaction with someone well-versed in psychotherapy and mental health treatment. Our Licensed Providers supervise our team of Support Counselors 24/7. However, the philosophy of our support chat is that not all students need a clinical appointment and warrant a licensed therapist encounter, but perhaps just someone to talk to. To be heard, to be seen, to be validated - without Judgement. 🫂 A Step Beyond Peer Support While peer support is invaluable for fostering connections and sharing lived experiences, our Support Counselors bring an extra layer of expertise to the table. Our SCs undergo rigorous training that aligns their experiences with literature and evidence-based practices. Grounded in Motivational Interviewing, our team not only empathizes but also provides actionable support rooted in proven therapeutic approaches, aimed at alleviating stress and fostering resilience. 📊 The Power of Data Every chat session begins with chatters rating their stress tolerance, which is then reassessed at the end of the session. Our data reveals that in 90% of cases, chatters report a decrease in stress tolerance after a single session, underscoring the effectiveness of our timely access to mental health professionals and the effectiveness of single-session appointments. Oasis Education serves as a first-line of defense in Mental Health first aid that seamlessly integrates with any School District's well-being team. #instantsupport #wellbeing #mentalhealthmatters #students #faculty #community #prevention #upstream #counseling #peer #licensed #single #session #appointments

Is your wellbeing program proactive and able to identify potential issues before they become serious? Can you quantify the results of your wellbeing program and evaluate its effectiveness? Do you want to reduce the wellbeing burden on your school staff?
If #schools are to be seen as the #solution to young people's mental health… Pitfall #2. How do you ensure school staff involved in Mental Health have appropriate resources and training to uphold #boundaries? ——————————————————————- When it comes to #mentalhealth, teachers can be fearful of doing or saying the wrong thing, preferring to signpost their student to a counsellor, therapist or Mental Health Lead. Of course, teachers need to stay within their professional remit, but teachers don't need to be a therapist to teach therapeutically! So we’ve developed the resources and training to enable teachers to be therapeutic teachers within THEIR resources: time and energy. What do these look like? A neutral, non invasive assessment process that identifies students who are struggling to self regulate or steer 4 areas important to healthy adolescent development - Self Disclosure, Trust of Self, Trust of Others and Seeking Change. Students complete the short online assessment 3x a year, building a tracking narrative of their steering through school. Once trained, through our Cpduk accredited online modules, teachers view their class data on the #STEER dashboard, quickly seeing which flagged students need a little extra signposting to bring them back on track. Using our STEER action planning tool, they select from a bank of personalised, low level, subtle, targeted #strategies to guide their interaction with each student as they teach. 💪 Let's equip teachers with the training and tools to teach therapeutically, reducing the number of students who go on to access clinical therapeutic support. #proactive #preventative early #intervention To see some #therapeuticteachers in action, watch this clip from a recent webinar below! 👇

It would make sense to double the amount of trauma informed experts in the environment, especially if you're a school that has a higher rural population per teacher status. It's like putting so much on the teachers otherwise. I've been slowly digesting the fact that it would be more safe to work in the trauma support field than try to make it without the trauma informed awareness around me. It's so common, it doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be more specific focus on this. #ptsd #chronicptsd #recentdata #traumarecovery
