An #earlychildhood educator with over 40 years of experience once told me, "Context over content." I just nodded and said, "Yeah," without really understanding what she meant. Today, one of the curriculum specialists we’re working with told me they always tell the kids a story with our animated material, before teaching the content. This helps them understand the concept behind the lesson and learn better. Suddenly, everything clicked. Context = the animated story Content = the curriculum All this while, I thought animations were just about engaging characters that spark kids' interest. Now, I've gained a deeper understanding of how animations help children learn better by providing a context that makes the content more meaningful.
