We're breaking down our comprehensive "Ultimate Guide to Organizing Your First User Conference" into a series of posts! Here is post 1/10 🙌 ! Organizing a user conference involves three main stages: pre-event, during the event, and post-event. Let's dive into the first few steps you need to pay attention to in your pre-event planning! Start with an Event Brief: This foundational document outlines your mission, goals, and key elements. Keep it updated with evolving details and share it with your internal team. As the event nears, it will serve as a FAQ document to address team questions. Plan Your Budget: Begin your budget planning early. For internal buy-in, back your request with data showing pipeline impact from previous events. If this is your first conference, seek insights from peers on their first-year results, such as attendance numbers, ROI multipliers, and ticket pricing. S/O to Kimberly Yip (Wong), CMP for the great quote below 🙌 Stay tuned for more tips as we unpack the guide over the next few weeks! Running an event shouldn’t require 29 browser tabs It’s a simple belief. In fact. The only thing worse… Is an attendee needing to open multiple tabs. Our goal - a single home for all of your attendees. Yes, that includes speakers and exhibitors. That’s achievable. And we do it today. On the event organizer's side. We will never do everything. No one can. They shouldn’t. You can’t be everything to everyone. We know our lane. We try to master that. We’re far from perfect. But getting better every day. This isn’t to say we don’t want you to use other tools. It’s the opposite. We have a higher retention rate for customers who set up integrations. The reason? We don’t do “swivel-chair integrations”. They’re fully supported. With an integration manager to coach you. So what’s the takeaway? Attendees need a single home. Event organizers need more under one roof. But the option to step outside when they need it.

Hey event organizers! Are you tired of spending hours creating Request for Purchase documents from scratch? 😩 Save time and effort by using templates! 📑 Templates allow you to simply fill in the necessary details for each purchase request, eliminating the need to recreate the entire document each time. This streamlined process can significantly cut down on the time it takes to generate purchase requests, giving you more time to focus on other important aspects of event planning. One of my favorite things about CustomReg, Inc. is how configurable our platform is—especially when it comes to packages and add-ons. Whether it's creating endless options for pricing tiers, session selections, or tailored experiences, flexibility is at the heart of what we offer. It’s this ability to adapt to each event’s unique needs that sets us apart. Can your current registration partner offer this level of customization? If not, maybe it’s time to take a closer look at what we can do.
When it comes to event registration, flexibility and configurability set the bar. With CustomReg, Inc., you can design an almost endless variety of packages and add-ons—offering an experience beyond what most off-the-shelf platforms provide. Why does this matter? Our platform lets you go beyond the standard limitations often found in "one-size-fits-all" solutions. With CustomReg, you can configure choices to fit your exact needs, including: 🔹 Packages that allow for flexible tiers, member rates, and exclusive VIP experiences 🔹 Add-ons that let attendees select additional options, like special sessions, unique access, or extra services 🔹 Dynamic session management, enabling registrants to personalize their event with ease With near-limitless package and add-on configurations, you get the flexibility of a custom solution with the ease of a tailored platform—ensuring every choice aligns perfectly with your event’s needs. We are back again, breaking down our top tips for organizing your first user conference! This is post 5/10 in our series (if you’ve missed it, check out our previous posts to see some of the other great tips and tricks we have unpacked for you) 😉 Today’s post focuses on one of the most important factors of organizing your first user conference: Choosing your conference platform! We might be biased, but we believe this might be the most crucial step in setting up your user conference! There are many factors to consider when choosing a provider, but here are our top 5 things to think about ⬇ All-in-One Solution: Look for a platform that offers ticketing, registration, multi-channel communication (email, SMS, push notifications), onsite check-in, badge printing, and a tailored mobile app for attendees 🎟 Personalization: Select a platform that supports personalized attendee journeys. This includes distinctive communication strategies, in-event experiences, and post-event follow-ups tailored to different attendee types (customers, partners, or prospects) 👨🏫 Brand Extension: Ensure the platform allows customization of landing pages, emails, and mobile apps. This helps the event resonate with your brand identity and deepens attendee engagement 🎨 Smooth Integration: Choose a platform that integrates easily with your existing tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, etc. Look for native, bi-directional integrations and comprehensive analytics to ensure effective follow-ups and actionable insights 💻 Reliable Partnership: Your platform provider should offer more than just technology. They should be partners in your event’s success, providing strategic guidance and tactical support throughout the event journey 🤝 (And if you are looking for a platform that does all those things well, Zuddl is the platform for you 💜 ) To view more tips like these, check out our full guide below: https://lnkd.in/gxXeFz88 #events #eventmarketing #userconference

Most event registration forms SUCK. For one simple reason. They make people think. Here’s where the failure starts: 1. Your team decides to host an event. 2. Marketing Ops, the CMO, and demand gen say: “You need to capture these 14 fields during registration” 3. As the event manager, there are 4 fields you actually need. E.g. what day are you arriving? meal choice? etc. So now you’ve got this reg form with 18 questions. It takes 9 minutes to fill out. Attendees need to look up info along the way. They get distracted. They start to second-guess. You’ve killed your conversion rate. To make it worse. You forced session selection into the reg process. Or! You ask someone to read. People.Don't.Read. Please, just no. Reduce the friction. Get registration completed. Then, follow up with progressive touch points to capture the rest of the data. The second you ask me to plan my day 3 months from now. Is the second I question how much I want to register. What's the worst registration experience you've seen? and why? How can we make registration better? #events #eventmarketing #eventmanagement

The Big Issues with Event Registration Guidebook launches our product advisory council today as we build registration. Here are some thoughts from building reg and signing up for events myself. 1️⃣ Keep it simple and limit stakeholders. (Not everyone needs to add a field, challenge them on what that data is for) 2️⃣ Experience is key. (You are showing people how the event experience will feel; keep it seamless) 3️⃣ Data is only good if you use it. (If you are collecting data, it should be used to influence the experience of the attendee) 4️⃣ Consistency. (Registration is an early touchpoint. Ugly, complicated, pointless design is not a good look!) 5️⃣ Keep your form to one screen. (A good test to how many questions you are asking) 6️⃣ Aim for a registration process that takes under 5 minutes. (Friction is a net negative to your end registration number) 7️⃣ Continue the experience post-registration. (Automate and customize confirmation emails for all participants) What are your thoughts? #Events #Registration #Eventplanning #Eventregistration #conferences
