𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲: 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝘽𝙞𝙜 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨 💡 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝘁" 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽 ⚙️ Many believe that once a funnel is live, it’ll magically generate leads and sales on autopilot. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝: a funnel without regular attention becomes irrelevant fast. Your audience evolves—your funnel should too. Think of it like planting a garden. You can’t just plant seeds and expect a lush bloom without watering, pruning, and care. - 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 🚦 Have you ever seen a landing page packed with every single offer, benefit, and feature? When you confuse your audience, they hesitate. And hesitation leads to exit clicks. A good funnel doesn’t overwhelm—it guides. It’s like a well-lit path, showing just the next step, not the entire journey all at once. - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗧𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗿𝘀 📢 “𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚,” “𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚,” “𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙢𝙞𝙩”—these CTAs lack punch and persuasion. A call-to-action should excite, inspire, and compel. Would you rather say: “𝐺𝑒𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐹𝑅𝐸𝐸 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑔𝑦 𝑛𝑜𝑤” or just “𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒”? Remember, a good CTA isn’t just a button—it’s a nudge toward transformation. - 𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 📈 Funnels aren’t just about the final sale. Every small action—𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨, 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙨, 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨—is a win. Celebrate and optimize for these micro-conversions to create momentum for the ultimate conversion. It’s like climbing a mountain. Every step counts, not just reaching the peak. - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 🤝 Automation is great, but a cold, robotic funnel will never replace genuine human connection. A personalized follow-up email, a relatable story in your content, or even a handwritten note can turn “𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙” into a loyal customer. 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙡 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙. The beauty of a funnel is that it guides users through a series of steps, nurturing them at each stage. From first-time visitors to loyal customers, an optimized funnel ensures you’re speaking to your audience at the right time, in the right way, and with the right message. This reduces friction, turning leads into buyers more efficiently. Here’s how funnels maximize business: 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Each step of the funnel is designed to meet your customer where they are. For instance, an awareness stage could focus on educational content, while the decision stage can promote your product’s unique selling points. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Funnels allow you to automate follow-ups, reminders, and even customer onboarding processes. This way, you spend less time on manual tasks and more on high-level strategies, while customers receive the attention they need at each stage. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A funnel gives you insights at every level—where people drop off, what content works best, and which actions lead to conversions. This allows you to tweak and improve the system for maximum efficiency. 𝙀𝙭𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙡 Let’s say you’re running a marketing agency. An automated funnel could look like this: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘁:You offer a free eBook or webinar on “How to Increase Your ROI in 30 Days” in exchange for an email. 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: After the sign-up, the lead is entered into an email sequence that offers valuable tips and case studies relevant to their pain points. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿: Once the lead has opened multiple emails or clicked on key links, the system sends a tailored offer, inviting them to a one-on-one consultation. Outcome? 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒍 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒕, turning cold leads into warm prospects and eventually into clients, all while providing you with a predictable flow of new business opportunities. Are funnels dead? "People still using funnels?" A prospect told me this last week. It got me thinking... Here's the deal: Funnels aren't dead. They've evolved. The Old vs. The New Remember those clunky, in-your-face funnels? Yeah, those are gone. Thankfully. Today's funnels are sleek, strategic pathways. They're less "used car salesman" and more "trusted advisor." Why Funnels Still Matter In a world of content overload, how do you stand out? How do you convert all that audience that loves what you post? How do you turn scrollers into clients? That's where modern funnels shine. They're not just about selling anymore. They're about guiding, nurturing, and building trust. The Secret Sauce It's not about tricking people into buying. It's about showcasing your expertise in a way that resonates. The Human Touch The best funnels feel less like a sales pitch and more like a conversation. They address real pain points and offer real solutions. It's about creating a journey that feels personal, even when it's automated. Think about it: When was the last time you made a significant purchase without some form of guided journey? You don't even notice it, but someone is grabbing you by the hand all the way. So, are funnels dead? Far from it. They've just grown up. What's your take? Have you experienced a funnel that felt genuinely helpful rather than pushy? For me, Matt Gray's funnel is just perfect.

Has ‘go-to-market strategy’ eaten the simple funnel metric? It’s rare to get more than 20 minutes into a conversation about generating revenue in a scaleup before someone mentions ‘go-to-market (GTM) strategy’. Often, this comes at the cost of a focus on facts which, in my opinion, means the simple funnel metrics. I’m releasing a full blog later but in summary the key points are: 1) ’Sales experts’ are pivoting, to become GTM Specialists with all-encompassing jargon and the expert’s own variations on a diagram… ICP, feature-benefit, core strengths, value propositions etc. It’s the wrong place to start.. Like a doctor who searches for a cure without a clear understanding of the diagnosis. 2) Funnel metrics may be tucked into frameworks, but usually nearer to the end of the process than the start, often dismissed in favour of twenty questions on market positioning and value propositions. 3) The complexity distracts from the most powerful tool: the funnel. What goes in, what happens in the mixer, and what comes out at the end. 3) Speedy referral to the funnel can tell you more in an hour than three months of GTM workshopping. The funnel doesn’t give you all the answers - but it does supply the questions. 4) Another VC with a shared passion for the funnel said to me.. “People don't want to look at the reality of what the funnel is telling them.” I agree. By focusing on everything but the numbers we can kid ourselves. Often, what the numbers tell us is scary and it’s more attractive to brainstorm a new branding strategy. 5) There are lots of excuses: ‘We only sign enterprise clients ’ or ‘Our sales process is complex’. As often as not, the real story is that funnel metrics tell a story the leadership doesn’t want to hear. 6) If you’re unsure on how funnels work I’ve created a basic spreadsheet (DM me). It also has useful links to articles on what “good” conversion rates and sales per salesperson should be (c.£500k). 7) The most common issue I see in scaleups is a focus on the end of the funnel. If sales don’t come through, it’s the fault of the salesperson – instead of a lack of leads coming through at the top. That’s because for the sales to come through the implied number of MQLs can be intimidating. 8) I don’t like weighted pipelines. I’ve just never seen one that’s any good and they give the impression that big sales are just around the corner. 9) I’ve created an example below. This table reveals a wealth of information. We know that due to the drop in leads two months ago we’re likely to get fewer SQLs, fewer deals into Contracting and, ultimately, in three months’ time we are only forecasting 1 new deal rather than the rough average of 3. I don’t think looking at the GTM strategy is a pointless exercise. Quite the opposite! My point is simply that for a scaling company it’s the wrong place to start. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and DM me for the spreadsheet, I’ll share the link to the full blog soon! #saas #vc

Tired of chasing new customers like a hungry ghost, only to see them vanish into thin air? You're not alone. Most startups are obsessed with acquisition, thinking it's the golden ticket to growth. But here's the cold, hard truth: Acquiring new customers is like trying to fill a leaky bucket. You can keep pouring water in, but if you don't fix the leaks, you'll never get ahead. The real game-changer is 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It's about nurturing the customers you already have, not just chasing after new ones. Why? One word: 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 We're talking about Educational Retention Marketing (ERM) – a personalized, relationship-driven approach that goes beyond just teaching your customers how to use your product. Their free online learning platform, Mutiny University, offers courses and resources that empower users to become personalization pros. It's like getting a marketing MBA but without the student debt. 3. The Mutiny Community: Where Marketers Unite Mutiny has fostered a thriving community of marketers through its online forum and social media channels. It's a place where users can connect, ask questions, share ideas, and troubleshoot problems together. It's like a virtual water cooler for marketing geeks. 4. Their marketing messages and educational content are always focused on helping users achieve their goals. 5. Data-Driven Insights: The Compass for Growth Mutiny uses data to track user behavior and identify areas for improvement. This allows them to continuously refine their educational content, onboarding experiences, and product features. Mutiny's success is a testament to the power of personalized ERM. By focusing on education, community building, and a customer-centric approach, they're not just attracting new customers; they're building lasting relationships that drive long-term growth. #Startups #Growth #ContentMarketing #EducationalRetentionMarketing #Mutiny

I made an extra £8,000 just by creating more content. But how does that actually work? Let me explain. First, I assessed my customer journey. Most people get this wrong. Here’s how mine used to look: Stage 1: Post on social media. ↳ You’re active but spread thin. Stage 2: Get clients on calls. ↳ You spend the time selling. Stage 3: Hope and pray. ↳ No follow-up means lost opportunities. I was getting around 5 calls a month. It was slow and tough. So, I changed my strategy. Here’s the 10-step framework I use: 1️⃣ Focus your platforms Post only where you see results. Start with one platform. 2️⃣ Create a magnetic lead magnet Build a resource that solves one big problem. 3️⃣ Drive traffic to your lead magnet Use your content and DMs to get people to sign up. 4️⃣ Build a newsletter Nurture subscribers with value, insights, and offers. 5️⃣ Simplify the signup process Make it easy for prospects to take the next step. 6️⃣ Transition effortlessly to a call Your content should pre-sell the value before the call. 7️⃣ Build an outreach funnel Find more ideal clients by systemising your outreach. 8️⃣ Refine your follow-up process Stay top of mind. Don’t leave money on the table. 9️⃣ A/B test everything Keep testing and refining to boost your conversions. 🔟 Set SMART goals Track your daily, weekly, and monthly funnel targets. After treating content as a long-term asset. - my conversions increased - my confidence grew - my calls doubled I now get 10 high-quality calls monthly with less selling. Better clients stay longer and pay more. It’s a game-changer. If you’re struggling with leads, rethink your customer journey. Content isn’t just something you post. It’s your growth engine.

A funnel, in the context of business, is a metaphorical representation of the customer journey towards a desired outcome, typically a sale. Imagine a wide funnel at the top, where you cast a broad net to attract potential customers. As they progress through the funnel, the path narrows, and only qualified leads who are interested in what you offer will move down towards the bottom, where the desired action (conversion) takes place. Here are the key stages of a sales funnel: 1. Awareness: At the top of the funnel, your goal is to generate awareness of your brand or product among potential customers. This might involve using marketing tactics like social media advertising, content marketing, or search engine optimization (SEO). Interest: Once potential customers are aware of you, you need to pique their interest and convince them to learn more. This could involve offering valuable content like blog posts, infographics, or webinars that address their pain points or needs. 2. Decision: At this stage, potential customers are considering their options and evaluating your product or service against competitors. Providing strong product information, testimonials, and clear calls to action is crucial here. 3. Action (Conversion): This is the bottom of the funnel, where you want potential customers to take a specific action, such as making a purchase, signing up for a free trial, or subscribing to your email list. Here's how funnels benefit business owners: 4. Improved lead generation: Funnels help you attract, capture, and nurture leads, ultimately converting them into paying customers. Streamlined customer journey: Funnels provide a clear path for potential customers to follow, guiding them towards the desired action. 5. Measurable results: Funnel analytics allow you to track performance at each stage, identify bottlenecks, and optimize your funnel for better results. 6. Increased sales and revenue: By effectively guiding potential customers through the buying process, funnels can significantly boost sales and revenue. #increasedsales #awareness #decision #action #leadgeneration #results #sales #revenues #ghl #kajabi #gohighlevel #clickfunnel

Automation Isn’t Optional—It’s Essential for High-Converting Funnels 🏆 A high-converting funnel is only as effective as its automation. Here’s why automation is the secret sauce to making your funnel work 24/7: 1. Instant Lead Follow-Up: Did you know response time can make or break a lead’s decision to convert? Automated email and SMS follow-ups mean every lead gets a response within minutes, no matter when they opt in. 2. Targeted Content: Automated workflows can deliver personalized content based on user actions. When your leads receive content that’s tailored to their specific journey, your chances of conversion skyrocket. 3. Recover Missed Opportunities: Not every lead is ready to buy right away, and that’s okay. A well-designed automation system will re-engage them through retargeting ads and email reminders, gently bringing them back into the funnel. Smart automations keep leads moving and help your funnel perform its best. Don’t let manual processes slow down your growth! 🚀 BTW here's a sneak peak on an automation workflow i built on Mastermind business hub for a coach who's launching his 3 day challenge coming up 🔥

You have a landing page. Great. But without this, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘳… Here's the catch: When it comes to landing pages vs. funnels, the distinction isn’t just minor... It’s the 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦-𝘰𝘳-𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 factor for your sales. What most DON'T REALIZE: A landing page is simple. One goal. One action. Perfect for immediate wins. But that’s where it stops... Think of it as a handshake with no follow-up. A funnel? It’s the journey. It guides your lead step-by-step from "just curious" to "take my money" Think of it this way: Your landing page is the opener. Your funnel is the 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 that seals the deal. Core differences to know: Landing Pages: - One goal. One focus. - No distractions—just a clear call to act. - Great for quick, direct conversions like sign-ups. Funnels: - Multi-step journey with strategic touchpoints. - Every stage builds trust and momentum. - Upsells, emails, and retargeting to nurture and convert. Why does this matter? A landing page starts a relationship. A funnel builds it. It nurtures your lead, answers doubts, and makes the sale. Best insight? A landing page can be a one-page funnel when done right. It acts as both the intro and the closer. Crafted with intent, it persuades and converts. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀... Relying only on a landing page? You’re leaving money on the table. Funnels do the heavy lifting that landing pages can’t. What should you choose? Need fast wins? Start with a landing page. Want long-term growth and deeper conversions? Build a funnel that captures, nurtures, and sells. Don’t get me wrong... Both MATTER The most successful businesses start with a powerful landing page and build it into a funnel. Now you know the difference. Don’t let your leads 𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘥. Guide them, nurture them, and turn visitors into customers with the right strategy. -- 𝗣.𝗦.
