From Picker Packer to Distribution Centre Manager: My Journey at Chemist Warehouse When I first joined Chemist Warehouse as a picker packer, I had no idea how transformative this journey would be. Starting at the ground level, my primary focus was to ensure that every product was picked, packed, and ready for dispatch accurately and efficiently. While the work was challenging, it laid the foundation for the skills and work ethic that would shape my career. Climbing the Ladder: From Picker Packer to Supervisor After gaining experience and consistently striving for excellence, I was promoted to the role of Supervisor. This transition was a significant milestone, offering me the opportunity to lead a team, streamline processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse. I learned the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and leadership—skills that would prove invaluable as I continued to grow. Embracing Challenges and Growth: Becoming a Distribution Centre Manager With dedication and a continuous desire to improve, I eventually advanced to my current role as Distribution Centre Manager. This position has been the most rewarding yet. Overseeing operations, managing logistics, and ensuring that every aspect of the distribution center runs smoothly is no small feat. However, the challenges have driven me to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the supply chain. Lessons Learned and Looking Forward Throughout this journey, several key lessons have stood out: 1. Hard Work Pays Off: Starting from an entry-level position and working my way up has shown me that dedication and perseverance are crucial for success. 2. Continuous Learning: Every role I’ve taken on has offered new learning opportunities. Embracing these has been essential to my growth. 3. Leadership Matters: Leading by example and fostering a supportive environment are critical in driving team success. 4. Adaptability: The ability to adapt to new challenges and changing environments has been crucial in navigating my career path. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at Chemist Warehouse and for the supportive colleagues and mentors who have helped me along the way. My journey is a testament to the fact that with hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn, you can achieve great things. To anyone starting their career journey or aiming to climb the ladder, remember that every step, no matter how small, is a step towards your goals. Keep pushing forward, and never stop believing in your potential. #CareerJourney #Leadership #Growth #Inspiration #SupplyChain #WarehouseManagement

Saying goodbye to a role after 14 years is never easy. As I closed the door on my time as a Depot Manager at an independent plant hire company, I was filled with both excitement and apprehension. This wasn’t just a job; it was part of my identity. But sometimes, taking that next step—even into something entirely different—can open doors to growth you never imagined. When I joined James Cropper as a Storesman, it felt like starting all over again. The work was different, the environment was new, and I was facing a steep learning curve. But I brought with me years of experience in logistics, people management, and problem-solving—all invaluable in any industry. Over time, I transitioned to the procurement department, using skills I’d developed over those years to make a positive impact in a whole new field. To anyone considering a career change: It can be intimidating, but don’t underestimate the value of what you’ve learned along the way. Skills are often more transferable than they seem, and a fresh perspective can be a powerful asset. #CareerTransition #NewBeginnings #CareerGrowth #Skills #LifelongLearning #Procurement #Logistics #PlantHire

Hey Y'all!! Although I’m DEVASTATED about my #AlabamaCrimsonTide 🐘🏈 swallowing the rat poison and taking a tough loss this weekend, I’m still excited to talk about my other passion: #Recruiting! Let’s shift gears and dive into how I’m helping businesses in the food and beverage industry find the perfect fit for their teams. 🍽️ Fun Fact: Did you know the average food manufacturing plant employs 173 people? 🤯 Whether it’s production line roles, quality control, maintenance/engineering, or corporate positions, hiring in the food and beverage industry isn’t just about filling spots—it’s about building a team that keeps the entire supply chain moving. 🚜🌾 But here’s the challenge: finding the right people who fit both the job and your company’s culture. That's where we come in. At Cross Resource Group, we act as an extension of your talent acquisition team, not competition. Our goal is simple: to streamline your hiring process for both plant-level and corporate positions—whether it’s a contract role or a long-term hire. Why partner with us? Speed: We respond faster than a coffee run during a production rush. ☕ Fit: We don’t just screen for skills—we screen for cultural alignment too. Flexibility: Contract or direct hire—we’ve got you covered! Let’s connect if you’re ready to build a team that makes everything flow smoothly! 🍏🥛 #FoodAndBeverage #ManufacturingJobs #HiringSolutions #StaffingFacts #PlantOperations #CPG
