How you deliver your events should suit how your (potential) audience consumes events – then they are probably more likely to attend. Read my earlier article: ‘Make Things Easy for Your Event Audience’. Does your audience prefer: - Virtual events - Events at venues - Watching recordings of your events at their convenience - Or some combination of the above? Think about hybrid events (simultaneously online and at a venue) so your audience has a choice of how to consume them. Which digital platform(s) does your audience prefer for attending virtual events or for watching recordings of your events? Which venues/locations do they prefer? Does your audience like: - Lots of slides at events; - Involvement in the events – interactive elements - Q & A sessions - Networking opportunities - ‘Breakout rooms’? Are you making life easy for your event audience? Links to articles: https://lnkd.in/drGQghuM #eventdelivery #eventmarketing #shareyaarnow

“If events aren’t part of you marketing strategy you’re living under a ROCK!” (Credit to David T. Stevens®, PMED as a result of a good ol’ LinkedIn conversation.) Big companies do events. They can look super jazzy, and sometimes they can cost ‘a lot.’ But the perception for smaller players can often be one of nervousness when it comes to events. ‘We don’t have the budget’ ‘We don’t have the time’ ‘We haven’t got a enough people to go.’ ‘We’ll have some much collateral to create! ‘Where do we start?’ But it’s all about context. Yes some large companies spend a sh** tonne on events and activations that surround this. BUT, it all needs to be in context. They do this because they work, and the bigger the business, the more resources it’ll undoubtedly have. BUT - small businesses can do this too, but without the price tag if they’re clever. I’m loving working with a handful of great small businesses that do just this. Some approaches? - Partner with others and share a stand. (Halve the cost, share the work, more people to help.) - Select a few highly targeted events and attend as a delegate or, better, a speaker. Low cost and often high impact. (Hello networking and brand awareness!) - Host something small and personal for important groups of customers or prospects. (Relationship building and brand building gold right there.) Potential output? Huge. New relationships created Leads generated Demos undertaken (how best to showcase your product than to, well, do just that?!) Insight gathered Marketing intelligence collected Awareness raised Credibility and trust built Authority firmly stamped! And there’s also content. Attending an event isn’t a single activity. It gives you SO much fuel to talk about, before, during and afterwards. And the learnings and conversations can help guide your business in its next steps. Sometimes this is nuanced, sometimes it’s a big shift. That’s the beauty of events; they provide SO much opportunity. And this is just ‘external’ events. Events are a hugely beneficial thing for internal audiences too. But that’s a whole other post. #events #eventprofs #marketing #strategywins

As an event marketer, your primary goal is to create impactful experiences that resonate with your target audience. While event logistics, planning, and execution are essential components of your role, it is equally important to leverage the power of conversation to foster a deeper connection between your audience, your message, and your brand. Every event you organize should have a clearly defined purpose and message. Whether you are promoting a product, raising awareness for a cause, or building your brand, your event should serve as a platform to communicate your key message. By focusing on this purpose, you can shape the conversations that unfold during and after the event, ensuring they revolve around your core values and objectives. To start conversations around your message and brand, you must actively engage your event attendees. Provide interactive opportunities that encourage participation and dialogue. Incorporate elements such as panel discussions, Q&A sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities. These engagements create an environment for attendees to share their thoughts, ask questions, and express their opinions, leading to authentic and organic conversations. .... Want to know the BIGGEST mistake I see with event activations? Memorable ≠ Effective Let me tell you a quick story that one of my podcast guests shared... ———————————————————— She experienced what she called "one of the best" event activations ever - a booth full of puppies! 🐶 Who doesn't love puppies?? You get to play with them, take cute photos, destress from the busy event... Sounds amazing right? Here's the problem: Years later, she remembers the puppies... but has ZERO idea what company ran the activation. No clue about their product, service, or why they were even there. ———————————————————— This is what happens when we prioritize "viral moments" over actual business strategy. Yes, your activation should be memorable. But it MUST: / Connect to your customer's journey / Address real pain points / Align with your solution / Lead to clear next steps / Actually drive business results The hard truth? Getting people to remember your brand is meaningless if they don't remember WHY they should work with you. Need better sponsorship and event strategies? “If events aren’t integrated into your marketing strategy, you’re missing out on a key opportunity!” 🌟 Big companies often invest heavily in events, which can appear flashy and expensive. However, smaller businesses might feel apprehensive about hosting events due to perceived constraints in budget, time, and resources. Yet, it’s all about context. Large companies spend significantly on events because they yield results. Smaller businesses can also benefit from events without incurring high costs by being strategic: - Partner Up: Share costs and efforts by collaborating with other businesses. 🤝 - Targeted Attendance: Attend key events as a delegate or speaker to maximize impact. 🎤 - Host Small Gatherings: Organize intimate events for key customers or prospects to foster relationships. 🍷 The potential outcomes include new relationships, lead generation, product demonstrations, valuable insights, marketing intelligence, increased awareness, and enhanced credibility. Events also provide rich content for ongoing engagement. Don’t overlook the immense opportunities that events can add to your business strategy. 🚀 #events #eventprofs #marketing #strategywins
