https://lnkd.in/eY3hbFBU There’s a reason we love comeback stories. We see ourselves in them — our resolve, our grit, our hope. So often it’s a major setback — cancer, divorce, job loss, the death of a loved one, bankruptcy, an accident, or a faux pas — that puts the spotlight on our lives and shows us the way to a meaningful “second act.” At some point, we all wind up with our backs against the wall and need to make a comeback. Yes, we all get knocked down, but successful people somehow know how to pick themselves back up. So how do we do it? Here's 10 comeback rules that you'll find helpful. No cost. https://lnkd.in/eY3hbFBU Use these ten rules as your catalyst for quickly and dramatically turning things around… primarily because they focus on one thing — getting you from setback to comeback as quickly as possible. Carol Rosenberg details some of the behind the scenes drama regarding Secretary Austin's decision to take the case away from the Military Commissions Convening Authority. https://lnkd.in/eERrAk8v At this point, in a long line of moral failures by USG, the newest one is giving false hope to the 9/11 families of the possibility of a death penalty trial. The pressure is also back on the military judge to make decisions about the admissibility of torture-tainted evidence. In a prior case (al Nashiri), a different military judge already ruled that type of evidence would not be admitted. This just could, of course, make a different ruling, which would set up a couple years long appellate process to reconcile the two findings. I think it's really unlikely this evidence can ever be used at trial. Finally, leave it to demagogues like Tom Cotton and Mitch McConnell to ignore the legal realities of this case and try to leverage it for political advantage. The convening authority is supposed to have independence to make this decision, by design. McConnell in particular knows that: he was in the Senate when the Military Commissions Acts of 2006 and 2009 were passed setting up this very system, and he voted for both acts. Outraged Republicans have themselves to blame for setting up the very system they now decry. https://lnkd.in/egdxsCq6

In the spirit of Thanksgiving... Writing down what you're grateful for can truly deepen your gratitude. It's also important to reflect on past trials to gain perspective and build resilience. Here are some of my past trials and how I came out stronger: 🛑 Mortgage crash (2007-2011): Lost everything—20+ homes, income down 90%. After 4 tough years, got coaching and restructured my business for long-term success. 🛑 Divorced after 20 years: Strained relationships with my kids, but I’m continually working on them. 🛑 Losing my sister and mom to brain cancer: Their battles taught me how short and precious life truly is. 🛑 Prep school hockey injury: Scored on my last shot but broke my collarbone, ending my high school career. Missed playoffs, hated watching from the bench in street clothes 🛑 ATV accident: Nearly lost my leg. After 5 surgeries, I’m thankful I can still walk, even with daily pain. 👉 The flip side: ❤️ Rebuilt my mortgage business: Now thriving in 18 states and helping others grow their businesses. ❤️ Remarried to the love of my life: Truly happy and at peace, with two amazing stepkids I call my own. ❤️ Hockey comeback: After healing, I worked hard, earned a starting spot, and lived my dream of playing college hockey. 🔦 Perspective from loss: Life is short; every day is a gift. Writing this reminds me: no problem is insurmountable. Once the pain fades, it’s time to get to work. Others need your story—it gives them hope. What are you grateful for? Share your story below. Happy Thanksgiving, and don’t forget to pause and reflect on your blessings. #blessedandgrateful
