How can anyone break into a current #AI #semiconductor market in which TSMC dominates the #foundry business and NVIDIA has locked up the #AI #hardware and #software used by developers? How Nvidia built its thus far unassailable lead is well documented. The unwritten story is whether anyone else might develop its way into the race. The goal at this stage would not be replacing Nvidia but at least opening a crack into the AI market. The Ojo-Yoshida Report breaks down what Tenstorrent Inc. is up to with its TT-Metalium, put it into a big picture of #ai #software development context. #Cuda #OpenCL #oneAPI, Neil Trevett Charles Macfarlane Jasmina Vasiljevic Jon Peddie John Lorenz Yole Intelligence

Reflecting on recent developments, Bank of America has assigned a 'Buy' rating to Super Micro Computers, valuing the stock at $1,040. This marks their inaugural analysis of both the stock and the company. They are not alone; several other institutions have also started to monitor SMCI and the services it provides, particularly over the last few days. However, I'm left with one straightforward question. Does anyone at these institutions read anymore? In December 2023, Barron's published an insightful feature on AI, highlighting Super Micro Computer as a great opportunity, suggesting it was significantly undervalued at around $250 and had a potential value of $800. It took just over a month and a half for this prediction to materialize, with other entities only now recognizing its value. Interestingly, it seems that primarily retail traders have acknowledged and acted upon this insight. I'm genuinely mystified by these events I can't find any major funds who bought SMCI before the past month.
If one were to ask me who are the three companies to keep a heavy eye on over the next three years. I would encourage them to look at Nvidia, Super Micro, and Vertiz. The three horsemen of AI hardware. They are the best pulse check on AI investment and the most reliable suppliers for the demand.

We have been hearing about Nvidia's hardware dominance, followed by AMD's efforts to catch up. However, it's not just about chips and hardware - these companies are actively acquiring and developing their software ecosystems. A recent example is AMD's acquisition of Silo AI, which I discussed in one of my stories, with Neil Shah, Prabhu Ram, Manish Rawat and Hyoun Park

If Nvidia Is AI Hardware's Goliath, Where's David? How can anyone break into a current AI semiconductor market in which TSMC dominates the foundry business and Nvidia has locked up the AI hardware and software used by developers?

AI - Correction: There are way to many people considered to be smart defending AI like there's no tomorrow. But really, shiny toys usually don't attract smart people. The way this technology is encroaching everywhere is quite alarming. And it's not just a shiny, harmless toy. I applaud people who are willing to see through the hype and nonsense and see AI for what it really is: a technology destroying intelligent and free thought.
The most interesting thing in tech: A big day at Nvidia! There was a huge drop in market capitalization and a letter from the DOJ about an anti-trust investigation. But the most interesting thing to me was data from the earnings call showing that the usage of Nvidia's high-end chips for inference has stayed at 40%, suggesting again that AI is important, promising and growing—but that it's a long way still from actually transforming the economy in any way.

Bright news for AI today. NVIDIA just shared their earnings for the last quarter and the whole year, and wow. They made 265% more money than last year, bringing in a total of $22.1 billion. More notably, their profit per share went up by a remarkable 765%. As NVIDIA continues to lead in providing hardware that powers AI applications, we can expect even faster advancements in overall AI capabilities. This means more sophisticated machine learning models, faster data processing, and innovations that could reshape everything from healthcare to entertainment. https://lnkd.in/ev57A2s2 #nvidia #nvda #ai

💥 Recommended Post & Perspective: Mark K. Setton I hate to say this, but ironically, its the 1% who drive all value created for the benefit of the 99% it seems !! I realise this sounds highly provocative, Nicholas Thompson , however I’ve researched this analogy myself across realms. For instance, my empirical research revealed less than 1% of a billion registered users on LinkedIn are writing & mobilising all the posts & threads! Let’s call them creators that the 99% follow. It’s the same on Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube etc. It appears embedded in nature somewhere, that 99% are what is termed as NPC - non player characters as in gaming. This appears to be the case throughout all homo sapien history. I have no idea why it works this way in nature, except for the idea that we may be living in a simulation? If you remove the 1% who helps create value for the 99%, what you immediately experience is utter collapse of a civilisation potentially. Just look at all history everywhere! Eric Schmidt in his Stanford interview recently said, the rich are going to get even richer in the phase of AI & the poorer, meaning the 99% are going to have to figure it out ourselves apparently. My view is we are on verge of becoming homo transcendent for those who upgrade from homo sapien = Equal 🤓 Morpheus thinks 🌿 differently 💥💥💥 Learn a lot about 4IRGPT .com knowledge trading for your professional benefit, creativity, business or organisation through Perplexity AI. [Daily Focus News] AI "Artificial intelligence semiconductor powerhouse #Nvidia (NVDA.O), opens new tab kicked off its annual developer conference on Monday, with investors focused on new chip announcements from Chief Executive Jensen Huang in an afternoon keynote address. Nvidia's new chip and software announcements at GTC 2024 will help determine whether Nvidia can maintain its leadership position as the dominant seller of the tools needed to fuel the past year's frenzy around AI. Nvidia dominates the data center AI chip market, capturing roughly an 80% share last year." #nvidia #aichip #semiconductor #nvidiagtc #gtc24 #ai #artificialintelligence #kotra #kotrasvitc
