For those that don’t know. The US House of Representatives HAS recently impeached Mayorkas for “willful and systematic refusal to comply” with federal immigration law. Any other government employee, and yes he IS an employee - of We the People would be fired. “Critics try to trivialize this serious step by claiming that the conflict is simply a disagreement over immigration policy. That disagreement certainly exists, but the House impeached Mayorkas for “willful and systematic refusal to comply” with federal immigration law. The first article of impeachment, in fact, lists seven different examples of such refusal. The second impeachment article, titled “Breach of Public Trust,” details how Mayorkas made “false statements” to Congress and “knowingly obstructed lawful oversight of the Department.” For any government employee - especially someone in a LE position - that’s a dismissal offense. No more needs to be debated. The other six examples of failure to do his job, while they are important, are irrelevant to these removal proceeding. That’s what they are. Removal hearings. A formality really because he’s already been found, beyond a reasonable doubt, TO BE guilty of making false statements to congress.

🏠Housing Policy in Australia🏠 There is only arguing back and forth... the same old stays the same well, housing goes beyond affordability. The question is if housing goes beyond affordability won't that be bad for the property industry? Will it be killing itself from within? or will it sit pretty anytime anywhere? in a recent national press council of Australia, a speech two opposite figures spoke: Mike Zorbas CEO of Property Council - suggesting cutting red tape across all government levels and utilities and freedom for corporations. Max Chandler-Marhers Green MP suggesting federal government owned public builder to compete against private builders and sell housing at build cost. Perhaps something in between might be needed? both of those people are in agreement that there is a housing crisis and shortage and millions of dwelling spaces needs to be built quickly and innovatively. and I hear that a large amount of small treaties and builders are at breaking point this tax time coming up. Is the construction industry about to implode similar to China? some seem to think that it will happen just like in China. China was a canary in a coal mine? "The dire forecast for Australia's economy in the next 12 months....More than 90 per cent of insolvency professionals believe Australia will dip into a recession within the next two years but some think it will be even sooner - in the next 12 months." says 9News wrote in Aug 2023: https://lnkd.in/g_7jygAR And many world-class finance forecasters predict dire consequences not just for Australia but for the rest of the world but particularly us here very much tied at the hip to China. Yesterday I spoke to 7NEWS Australia and others about the recent government forum, and what industry is needing by way of support from Government. Incremental progress is being made, and welcome, especially in planning reform, but it is not enough to move the dial right now. There are two levers that can be pulled right now: certainty for land supply in the greenfields - UDIA Victoria has been advocating relentlessly on this issue, and tax reform to promote both consumer and investor confidence. As our Legislature returns, it’s troubling that our government remains focused on divisive, fringe politics rather than the real priorities of Albertans. Our neighbours and neighbourhoods are faced with complex, urgent challenges. Across Canada, there’s a growing frustration with governments more focused on pandering to regressive ideologies rather than on delivering meaningful and tangible solutions.
