On-site safety is an important part in keeping our technicians safe when out on the job. Especially when doing maintenance on single dispensers or pumps, technicians are working in high traffic areas with moving vehicles. Barricading the work area, using traffic cones/flags is a simple but effective preventative safety strategy that ensures high visibility. - #SafetyAndHealthWeek #WorkplaceSafetyAwareness #Petroservice

Just when you think your making progress..
I was recently sent this photo from a colleague in the industry. I am not quite sure what has gone wrong here but I think we can all agree it has gone wrong and thankfully in this case there was no one in the trench at the time. My dad as an experienced plant operator of 35 years always used to say there are drivers and operators. I wonder does that apply in this instance. What do you think caused this situation? Is it a lack of risk assessment, operator error, poor training, inadequate supervision, insufficient planning, a lack of safe design or something different . #PlantSafety #KeepPeopleSafe #Safehome

Not many people aware how crowded the sub-street landscape in our cities are? And the challenge this poses for installation of new utilities such as renewable district heat pipeline networks. Installation of new district heat pipeline networks absolutely "do-able" and no issues are insurmountable, but suggest clearly emphasises the importance experience will play and for a co-ordinated and collaborative approach between utilities, on national level Photo shows trench opened to install new insulated district heat pipe network. Yellow pipe is PE gas distribution main over a cast iron water pipe, another pipe/duct partly exposed in the lower left foreground. I am sure electricity cables not too far away. Most gas and electricity professionals looking at this photo probably asking what mini-digger was doing here? Mechanical excavation in close proximity to live gas mains or electricity cables is not permitted ( or advised) Great photo many thanks to Robert Mc Carron at GMC Utilities Group for posting and highlighting this Near Miss #eng4climate
