The percentage of ‘failed’ transformations has decreased, however a lot of companies settle for mediocre results. Full adoption is still not within grasp for a lot of companies. There are some good recommendations to improve transformation outcomes in the article. Many of these are what successful enterprise change teams have already setup, such as operating rhythms and managing ‘organisational energy’. Senior change practitioners have critical roles to play in these levers. My candid observations have been that it’s not the big Fortune 100 companies that do best in this regard in terms of enterprise change maturity. It’s often the select second or third tier companies that have innovated and put in these practices to reap the benefits.
