🔍 Reflecting on the Future of Tech Law: Insights from the Association of Danish IT Attorneys ( Danske IT-Advokater): 🗓️ Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining a thought-provoking panel debate together with Henrik Udsen, Jesper Andersen, Katja Andersen, and Ulrik Laustsen. We engaged in rich discussions about the challenges and evolution of the tech lawyer's role in the face of an ever-growing body of legislation, particularly from the EU, that impacts the digital and tech space. 🤔 One of the central themes we explored was whether the tech lawyer of the future will be a specialist or a generalist. As in-house counsel, we often wear multiple hats, integrating law with business acumen and strategic thinking. The debate opened up perspectives on how the tech law profession might evolve, with some lawyers becoming deeply specialized while others maintain a broad understanding of the field. 💡 PwC shared insights on GenAI technology and its implications for advisory industries. Their presentation sparked a lively discussion with the audience about AI's transformative (pardon the pun!) effects on our work. 🔄 A message I emphasized during the debate—is the shifting expectations for external law firms. As clients, we foresee legal tech becoming an integral part of service offerings, which will inevitably influence pricing models and the way collaboration occurs between in-house teams and external advisors. This ties back to the ongoing conversation about specialization versus generalization within our field. 👏 The debate was a testament to the vibrant engagement and forward-thinking of our community. I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these critical conversations and look forward to how we, as legal professionals, will navigate and shape the future of tech law. A big thanks to Marlene Winther Plas and Tue Goldschmieding for inviting me. #TechLaw #AI #GenAI #Falck #InHouseCounsel
