NEW AI GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK IN THE UNITED STATES The United States has just introduced a new AI governance framework with strict rules governing its use in federal agencies. This framework is based on four key pillars: 1) AI use restrictions 2) Minimum risk management practices 3) Cataloging and monitoring of AI use 4) Training and accountability Certain AI uses are now prohibited in federal agencies, such as: 1) Profiling or tracking individuals based on their constitutional rights (freedom of expression, association, etc.) 2) Illegally suppressing freedom of speech or the right to an attorney 3) Using AI to disadvantage individuals based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or religion 4) Detecting a person’s emotional state without lawful and justified reason. This framework strengthens transparency and ethics around AI usage, ensuring the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms. In the field of AI and data security, techniques exist to preserve the confidentiality of information while allowing its analysis. This is particularly crucial in sensitive sectors such as healthcare, finance, and governance. Thus, the challenge is not only technical regarding data privacy and security in AI. The effective implementation of these rules requires strict governance and adapted regulations. But how will this be achieved?
