There was a 70-80 year-old man in the pharmacy section of the store Sunday morning and he was looking for a sodium pill he said. I wasn’t familiar with it but I was determined to help him so I spent the next 5 to 10 minutes looking all over the pharmacy and supplement section for this supplement that apparently has doctor had recommended him to begin taking. In an effort to try to isolate where the supplement would be, I wanted to understand the context of his search in the first place because I thought that might give me some insight as to where it might be in the store. Apparently, his doctor has him on a water pill and said that he was losing too much fluid so he needed to add in more sodium. A common sense person would just take less of the water pill dosage… But this doctor is going to have him taking two different pills when he could simply reduce the intake of one, which is going to result in overall more costs. 👉 And this is how many people are treating their businesses lack of profitability. They think by adding additional income streams it’s going to add additional profit, but really all they end up doing is adding additional costs and overwhelm. It might grow your top line but diminishes your bottom line. And the result is a business that you can’t grow and you can’t sleep at night. Businesses in this situation usually need to have their menu cut down & work on their messaging. Because when you add things on, it doesn’t make it better.
