So far In 2024, about 40% of Gen Z users start their searches on TikTok or Instagram instead of Google. This is why it’s so important to be answering those commonly asked questions! It’s simple, figure out what the most commonly asked questions are in your industry, and make a video tailored to that. There’s no guarantee it will go viral, but you’re still providing value to those who need it. The U.S. House has passed a bill to ban TikTok in the U.S. if ByteDance doesn’t divest the social media platform. I think this is potentially going to be great for advertisers, especially SMEs. In the short term, there will be uncertainty with brands considering whether to continue to invest in TikTok with the potential of it being banned. Advertisers pulling out of the market should reduce CPMs on the platform, making it a great place to invest your marketing budget. In the long term, if TikTok is bought by one of the big advertising incumbents like Google or Meta, which have vast amounts of user data compared to TikTok, it could result in a much more targeted advertising solution that delivers better ROI for advertisers.
