According to a recent report by Paycor, nearly half of HR professionals are new to their roles, having been in their positions for two years or less. This is significant because it points to a potential area that needs more support. With so many HR professionals still finding their footing, there's a clear need for ongoing training and development within our own ranks. The report also emphasizes that C-suite executives view HR as the primary driver of leadership development. However, they cite a 'lack of HR support' and 'outdated performance management systems' as key reasons for ineffective management. This underscores how critical our role is in shaping and supporting effective leaders within the organization. One of the standout points for me was the connection between effective management and employee engagement and retention. It’s clear we need to focus on supporting our own team members, investing in leadership development, and fostering a culture of open communication and trust. This is how we can drive meaningful engagement and retention across the board https://lnkd.in/gfDU_xnn How are you supporting your HR team in your organization? #hrcareer #hrprofessionals #hr

As leaders, how can we better support HR professionals who are new to their roles? With nearly half of HR professionals having been in their roles for two years or less, the need for effective leadership is more critical than ever. The findings reported on here by HR Dive highlight a growing concern: HR is often seen as the owner of leadership development, yet there's a gap in the support they receive to fulfill this crucial role. Servant leadership offers a powerful solution. By embracing a servant leadership approach, we can empower HR professionals to succeed in their roles. Servant leaders prioritize the development and well-being of their teams, creating an environment where HR professionals feel supported and valued. This approach not only addresses the immediate need for mentorship and guidance but also fosters a culture of trust, communication, and collaboration—essential elements in today’s workplace. Investing in servant leadership for HR professionals is not just a strategy—it’s a necessity. Doing so can bridge the gap between leadership expectations and employee experience, ultimately leading to stronger engagement, retention, and results.

2025 will look very different for businesses and their employees. It will also require HR to radically change our strategies. Looking ahead, HR leaders anticipate a coming work year filled with new technology, shifting employee needs, and major organizational updates for those who want to remain relevant. According to a recent Gartner survey, 97% of CHROs plan on transforming their organizational culture next year — but far fewer feel equipped to develop and grow in preparation for those changes. Focusing on our teams is important, but ignoring leadership development can be detrimental to evolving HR standards. HR managers need to ensure that they cultivate the new skills necessary to stay on top of these trends, while actively addressing upcoming issues and expectations before they become overwhelming. We should always strive to keep learning, and to welcome new ideas, rather than ignore them. #HR #HRLeadership #HRDevelopment #CHRO #organizationalculture
