When was the last time that you felt truly fulfilled from a good work day? For me, it has been a really long time. I've really missed this feeling! [Sidebar] I've been reminded today why I've never really considered #QA part of my core skills and strengths even though I did create a rather positive reputation for myself in that area. I guess it's only because I've been able to train myself to always anticipate issues long before they become issues. Over the years, I've discovered that I have an abnormal ability to always think and see things 10 steps ahead of other people. So that allows me to do preventive work rather than reactive work. I've experienced all the pains of being in a QA's position. So one day, I decided that perhaps it is better to be more meticulous in what I do, so that it would drastically reduce the chances of bugs or errors. Looking back today, I was reminded that during the 2nd half of the last part of my journey, every single time that I am entrusted and empowered (given the time, and freedom) to do my best work, I would always end up with an output that has a 95% and over success rate). That means having very little to no bugs. Quite literally. I supposed I really did thought of everything. 💡 When Time Pressures Compromise Quality: The Dilemma Every QA Faces As a #Quality_Analyst, nothing feels more rewarding than delivering a flawless product. But sometimes, the reality of #tight_deadlines can get in the way, and I’ve recently found myself in one of those challenging situations. It’s tough, and honestly, as a QA, it #feels_bad knowing that the product may not fully meet our standards due to #limited_development_time. While it's #disheartening to see #quality_compromised, it's also a reminder that the journey of improvement never stops. Each hurdle is an opportunity to learn, grow, and find new ways to balance perfection with timelines. And yet, there’s another tough aspect of this role: #when everyone else is #celebrating_the_success of the launch, QA is often left thinking about what could have been improved. It’s a bittersweet feeling, knowing that while the work is appreciated, we still hold ourselves accountable for the highest quality that wasn’t fully achieved. Quality Beloveds, how’s it going? It’s #Friday and we had another TALKNTALK immersion session where today’s theme was Job and Career Questions. Phillipe led us in a chat that was both interesting and reflective about our careers. The question I found most intriguing was "What motivated you to pursue a career in this area?" My response was, "I fell in love with the field at the age of 13 when I took a course in computer assembly and maintenance. Since then, I haven’t envisioned myself in any other area besides IT, more specifically as a Quality Assurance (QA) professional.
