Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind. It's rather better than I expected, given it's powered by AI... 2024 showed me that valuable insights often come from unexpected connections. My MA research on Ethics of Inclusion enriched my facilitation practice. Speaking at Parliament about change reinforced the importance of creating truly inclusive spaces. Returning to (temporary) part-time employment with a charity client (my first time as an employee in 18 years!) brought fresh perspectives on leading change in very traditional organisations. The year's most engaging moments came from bringing these different worlds together: Speaking at Parliament about facilitating change, while wearing my orange respirator mask, showing how inclusive leadership means making space for different needs, even when it feels uncomfortable. The session included stories of when things went wrong (but I recovered!), and the practical tips resonated deeply with the delegates' pressured environment. https://lnkd.in/ed7qwvR9 Taking an unexpected role with a charity client: "For once there's no tech involved, just people, processes, change, collaboration and leadership." Sometimes the best learning comes from stepping into new spaces. https://lnkd.in/eNfG9dpa Completing my MA dissertation on Ethics of Inclusion after three years of part-time study: "I've learnt so much, and this will be my first humanities degree." Next step was a book chapter on this research for an academic textbook coming out next year. (News just in: The exam board) gave me a distinction!) https://lnkd.in/ebqHXAVT I continued facilitating workshops online and in-person, serving on the IAF England and Wales board and teaching Leadership and Collaboration for St Hild College. Each role reinforced what I've long believed: inclusive leadership isn't just about being nice - it's about creating spaces where everyone can contribute their best work, whether in-person or virtually. Looking to 2025: While my charity role concludes in summer, I'm excited to integrate my research on ethics of inclusion into my facilitation practice and keep helping organisations make hybrid work better for everyone. To all who are working to make our spaces more inclusive and collaborative: thank you for teaching me as much as I may have taught you. Here's to making 2025 matter. -- Get your 2024 LinkedIn Rewind at https://lnkd.in/ebSDM3m5
