Book club 8 in the bag! This time, Just Enough Research by Erika Hall. Research is a vital part of the design process, without it, how do you know if you’re building the right thing for the right people? This book has been on my list for a long time, and it's definitely worth a read! Erika covers all the different types of research, when to use them, best practices, why people object to research and what you can do to push for it. What we covered - Sharing stories about when research didn’t go as planned 🤯 - Lots of fun stories about priorities and cultural differences. - Myths VS Facts 🎲 - Turns out Miller's Law (that people can remember 7+-2 things in their working memory) is wrong! More recent research shows the magic number is 4. - Exercise: Just enough research for me is... 🏋️ - Erika suggests working backwards from the answers you want to define the questions you should ask. We tried that for ourselves. Shoutout to co-host Neelam Patil, and of course to Anfisa Bogomolova for giving us this platform to learn and up-skill together! 🚀 On Jan 21st, we'll be reading "Build: An Unorthodox Guide to Making Things Worth Making" by Tony Fadell! What's 1 time research didn’t go as planned for you? Share below. #seniorproductdesigner #uxdesign #productdesign #uxdesign #userresearch #bookclub

🚀 Excited to Share (yet another) launch: My Rapid "Before & After" Design Series! 🎨 As some of you might’ve noticed, I recently launched my new portfolio and as a response to valuable feedback to its content, I thrilled to introduce my latest project: "Before & After" series. Instead of lengthy case studies, which requires time, I'm cutting straight to the point with quick, impactful design solutions. The main idea of this challenge is to simplify the design process into two straightforward steps: 1️⃣ Identify the key problem 2️⃣ Create my solution 🔥 With that being said, ready for a fresh take on solving design challenges and enhancing user experiences on one of your favourite book platforms. Join me on this journey that starts with the design retelling of Goodreads! 💡 #DesignChallenge #UIUXDesign #BeforeAfterDesign #DesignProcess #UserExperience #UXDesigners #DigitalDesign #CreativeSolutions #GoodreadsRedesign #BookLovers #InnovativeDesign #PortfolioShowcase #GraphicDesign #VisualDesign #CreativePortfolio #DesignSeries #RapidDesign #UserCentricDesign #CreativeJourney #PortfolioUpdate #DesignerLife #VisualStorytelling
