Tuesday thoughts: < 2 projects down for the week! Woo hoo! I have a ways to go in meeting goals, and the most challenging ones are ahead, but I'll take this as a "W". < As someone breaking into data analytics, I believe it's sound advice to have business knowledge, and that helps you stand out. However, when you're (kind of) new to this and not in a data job, it's hard enough to maintain and grow technical skills (have to stay consistently on top of it), but it's even harder to gain that additional knowledge and learn how to merge the business and technical. #dataanalytics #data #analysis #learning #motivation #support #goals

My experience with data analysis has been a surprising yet enlightening journey. In the first course, I discovered the power of data all around us and how crucial it is for making informed, evidence-based decisions. This resonated with my personality—I thrive on challenges and love proving a point. Using data to solve problems sounded thrilling! However, I quickly learned that the path isn’t as straightforward as I anticipated. Now, as I dive into course 5 of 8, I'm finally getting into the heart of analysis. Before this, the focus was on "The Process": gathering data ethically, ensuring it's unbiased, cleaning it meticulously, and addressing any errors. Without mastering these foundational steps, analyzing raw data can lead to more problems than solutions. It’s been a gradual but rewarding journey. Understanding the PROCESS is just as vital as the analysis itself. Every step builds towards the ultimate goal, and now that I'm in the analysis phase, I’m eager to apply what I’ve learned to tackle real-world challenges! Are you also into Data analysis? I'd love to connect with you. Let's collaborate on something nice. Kindly send a DM. #DataAnalysis #LearningJourney #DataDriven #ContinuousImprovement

Great Analytics happens when three types of skills converge: 1. Technical skills (how you navigate & understand data) 2. People skills: (how you work with others) 3. Domain skills: (understanding the context of your data) My observations after 10 years doing analytics: - Don't get too fixated on #1. Your career can hit a ceiling if this is your only focus area. - They're all equally important. But domain knowledge is a superpower - it's the skill that enhances the other skills the most. - They can all be learned. Don't give up 😁 ~~~ What are you working on learning right now? #data #analytics

The power of Pivot: when “Right” isn’t “Relevant” in data analysis. Today, I had an insightful experience while analyzing data using a weighted average to support my hypothesis. I was excited to share my findings with my mentor, only to receive an encouraging response 😀: while my calculations were correct, they weren't necessary to prove my findings. This feedback means I need to pivot and start again 😔, though not from scratch! It’s a reminder that every step in our journey is a valuable learning opportunity. The best part? I gained new insights today. The challenging part? Adjusting my approach when I thought I was finished. In the end, every experience contributes to our growth. Here’s to embracing the process! 🌟 #LearningJourney #GrowthMindset #DataAnalysis

I’ve recently decided to dive into the tech world and pursue a career in data analysis—a field that has already captured my interest. The reasons for choosing this path are many: the thrill of uncovering hidden insights in data, the ability to make informed decisions, and the joy of exploring trends and patterns. Data analysis isn’t just a discipline; it’s an exciting journey into the core of information. Encouraged by my facilitator to document this adventure, I’m excited to share my experiences. My first assignment was on data validation in Excel—a challenging yet fascinating task. After dedicated practice, I overcame the problem by leveraging key Excel functions like RIGHT, LEFT, and LEN to generate true/false outcomes. I also integrated formulas like AND, OR, VALUE, and =INDIRECT to enhance my analytical process. Each step brought deeper insight and clarity. The sense of accomplishment after figuring it all out was truly rewarding! I look forward to sharing more as I grow and learn in this exciting field. #ExcelAnalysis #DataDriven #NeverGiveUp

Reflecting on my data analytics journey... From being a beginner to helping organisations make data-driven decisions, it's been an incredible ride! I remember the struggles of learning new tools and technologies, the frustration of dealing with messy data, and the thrill of discovering hidden insights. But most importantly, I remember the sense of accomplishment when I saw my work make a real impact. I remember I started in 2019 just because I wanted to use it. I needed to analyse some data, so instead of employing an expert, I took up the challenge myself; it was great! Over time, I've seen how it has increased my effectiveness and speed in decision-making, which, in turn, Ives used in different firms to grow their efficiency and improve productivity. If you're starting in data analytics, don't be discouraged by the challenges. Keep pushing forward, and know every hurdle is an opportunity to learn and grow. And to those who are seasoned professionals, let's continue to share our knowledge and experiences to empower others. Data analytics has the power to transform businesses and lives. Let's keep unlocking its potential together! #DataAnalytics #DataJourney #DataScience #CareerGrowth #LearningAndDevelopment #DataCommunity
