At LLF, we believe that it is essential to work with the government system to be able to improve foundational literacy and numeracy(FLN) outcomes at scale. Our work is multi-layered. At the state level, we render technical support to government agencies by co-creating teaching-learning material(TLM), orienting state-level resource groups for training teachers and mentors, and building institutional capacity, among other things. At the district level, we collaborate with government agencies to demonstrate the power of improved learning through effective FLN implementation. Demonstrations support governments in mainstreaming best practices with the statewide education system to help hundreds of thousands of children learn better. Ensuring equitable learning with a focus on the disadvantaged and marginalised groups, contextualising and co-creating instructional content, and advocating for the use of children's home language and additional languages in teaching and learning are the salient features of our work. Are Extra Curricular Activities Important? I participated in many activities during my bachelor's at ITM UNIVERSITY, GWALIOR, such as NCC, NSS, volunteering, and being a member of various clubs. Today, I suddenly started talking to my friend about our NCC camp experiences, and so many memories came rushing back. Things that happened during the camps, especially: - Map reading classes - Rifle shooting - Standing in line for food - The 5am waking whistle - Cleaning everything ourselves - Parades - The NCC song & Dress and much more... It was always an amazing experience living with new people as a team and learning so many extra things beyond the curriculum. It made me realize that although those extra activities were not directly helpful in getting a job or excelling in academics, participation in extracurricular activities helps a lot indirectly, especially in: - Building your confidence - Time management - Communication skills - Networking and many more... It's important to engage in such activities while managing your work to create amazing memories to cherish. One of the best experiences for me was visiting Central Jail Gwalior as a volunteer for a seminar on the "Importance of Books in Life" with my friends Avinash Sharma, Mr. Vaibhav Nigotia, Manthan Verma, and Deeksha Soni.
