I had a fascinating discussion with Amy Tomlinson, MD of Ginetta Cars, delving into motorsport and high-performance racing, which aims to triple car production in three years. Using her engineering mindset and previous experience in two former companies, she has built and systematised Ginetta's commercial functions, which is her answer to achieving her ambitious targets. Key takeaways from our conversation include Amy's focus on leadership and legacy, customer experience enhancement, targeted market expansion efforts, and the significant economic impact Ginetta is poised to make across the automotive industry. Navigating Curves: Business KPIs and Motorcycle Riding In biking and business, a forward-looking approach is essential. Rearview mirrors and past data, like sales figures, provide crucial insights but shouldn’t be the main focus. They inform your understanding of past performance and guide future planning. Use Rearview Mirrors Sparingly Bike Riding: Over-reliance on mirrors can distract from the road ahead. Business: Similarly, past sales data is valuable but should not dominate strategy. Use these insights to drive future growth. Look Ahead for Clear Vision Bike Riding: Focusing on the road ahead helps anticipate challenges and navigate smoothly. Business: Concentrate on future trends and opportunities, setting long-term goals. Balance is key: use the past for context, but keep your vision forward to navigate the road ahead in both business and riding. #BusinessStrategy #BikeRiding #ForwardThinking #Leadership #FutureFocused

Turning Crisis into Opportunity? When Honda abandoned its F1 team in 2008, most would have seen a dead end. Ross Brawn saw a starting line. Key Takeaway: True entrepreneurs don't see obstacles; they see opportunities waiting to be transformed. What BBC's documentary about Brawn GP's masterclass in entrepreneurial strategy and leadership teaches us: 🏁 Lessons Learned: Radical Adaptability: - Transformed a potential business collapse into a championship-winning team - Proves that flexibility is the ultimate competitive advantage Innovation Under Pressure: - Developed the revolutionary "double diffuser" design - Demonstrated how constraint breeds creativity Ross Brawn's leadership was about: - Calm strategic thinking - Empowering talented teams - Making calculated risks - Great leaders create environments where innovation thrives - Success is about collective intelligence, not individual heroics 🏁 Brawn GP won the World Championship with a fraction of traditional team budgets. Their approach? - Lean operations - Smart resource allocation - Laser-focused strategy 🏁 And that approach and journey teaches us that: - Resilience matters more than resources - Innovation can emerge from uncertainty - Belief in your team can overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges 🏆 Final Reflection: Success isn't about having the most resources, but making the most of what you have. #Entrepreneurship #BusinessStrategy #Innovation #Leadership

𝐀 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰. Take Tiger Woods, for example. Known as a golf prodigy, his success wasn’t just talent—it was his philosophy of "Kaizen", or continuous improvement. In 1997, he took the bold step of rebuilding his entire swing from scratch. For 18 months, he didn’t win a tournament, facing harsh criticism. But Tiger believed, "𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫." When his new swing emerged, it was a more precise, versatile, and effective masterpiece. The result? 82 PGA Tour wins, making him 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 . Woods’ journey shows that greatness comes from discipline, not shortcuts. All the lesson I shared is learned from the book called " 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐂𝐄𝐎 " Written by Steven Bartlett Alok Kumar Badatia #thediaryceo #Innovation #StandOut #RelentlessPursuit #ThinkDifferent #CreativeMindset #Innovator #BreakTheMold #SuccessMindset #GameChanger #BeDifferent #Leadership #ContinuousImprovement #Inspiration #PersonalGrowth

Imagine owning a high-performance sports car—sleek, powerful, capable of unparalleled speed and handling. But if you keep your foot firmly on the brake, all that potential remains untapped, static, and unseen. This is what happens when your capabilities far exceed your willingness to act. In the business world, we often find ourselves with exceptional resources, advanced skill sets, and innovative ideas. Yet, without the willingness to push forward—to take risks, embrace challenges, and step into the unknown—those capabilities are like that sports car sitting idle, full of promise but going nowhere. The difference between knowing you have the potential and actually using it is what drives progress, growth, and success. It's time to recognize where your foot is on the brake and consciously move it to the accelerator. Ask yourself: Are you truly leveraging your full capabilities, or are you just revving the engine without moving? #PotentialToAction #BusinessMotivation #Leadership #GrowthMindset #TakeTheLeap #GoSteelers #CoachTomlin

Unleashing the Strategic Power of Motorsports in Business: A 20-Year-Old's Perspective Hey there, fellow enthusiasts! Let’s dive into a topic close to my heart: the thrilling intersection of motorsports and business strategy. As a 20-year-old business student with a passion for motorsports, I’m excited to share my insights on how these two worlds collide in the most fascinating ways. Think about it Formula 1 isn’t just about fast cars and podium finishes; it’s a strategic battlefield where every move counts. From optimizing pit stop strategies to outsmarting rivals on the track, it’s a high stakes game that requires both speed and smarts. And let’s not forget about teamwork – something motorsports and business have in common. Just like a pit crew works seamlessly to keep the car running smoothly, a cohesive team is essential for driving success in any business venture. So, here’s the deal: I’m all about exploring the strategic parallels between motorsports and business, and I’d love to hear your thoughts too! What do you think we can learn from the fast-paced world of racing? How can we apply these lessons to our own entrepreneurial endeavors? As business development champions we’re always in full-throttle mode 😃 , racing from one opportunity to the next - but we often forget one critical component without which we can't win the race to success.. REST. The pursuit of new leads, the thrill of closing deals, and the strategy sessions that never seem to end—this is the adrenaline-fueled world we live in. And we love it. (I mean most of the days ... 😁 ) I am guilty of rarely stopping to "refuel", which has not been working well for me and I am not afraid to admit it anymore. Yes, we have celebrated incredible growth, surpassing milestones that once felt out of reach, working with such incredible clients that are leading the success, thriving in change, and impacting the world. Yet, amid this success, I've learned a vital lesson: REST and SUCCEED or don't rest and fail. So I did. My perfect recipe for rest is a balance of my biggest passions besides business development - which are mountains and motorsports. The peace and quiet of the mountains vs the loud roar of engines, mixed with the smell of burnt tires recharged my business development batteries and refueled my focus to end 2024 with bold goals. #businessdevelopment #leadership #recharge #lessons #teammanagement #businessdevelopmentmanager

Mo Farah vs. Usain Bolt: Two Paths to Success Success isn’t one-size-fits-all, and no comparison captures this better than Mo Farah and Usain Bolt. Both legends in athletics, they achieved greatness through very different approaches. 🏃♂️ Usain Bolt: The ultimate sprinter. His explosive power and speed broke world records in a matter of seconds, showing the importance of seizing the moment and excelling under pressure. 🏃♂️ Mo Farah: The long-distance king. His endurance, patience, and strategy over miles of grueling races teach us that consistency and perseverance are just as crucial as speed. The Lesson? There’s no singular path to success. Some goals demand Bolt’s burst of energy and focus, while others require Farah’s stamina and resilience. In life and business, understanding your unique race—and pacing yourself accordingly—is the key to crossing the finish line. So, whether you’re sprinting to short-term goals or running the marathon of long-term ambitions, remember: success comes to those who run their race their way. #Success #Leadership #MoFarah #UsainBolt #Motivation #Business
