I'll be honest, when I first dipped my toes into the world of digital marketing freelancing, I couldn't shake the feeling that the market was over saturated. With so many freelancers vying for clients' attention, how could I possibly stand out? But then, one day, I stumbled upon a post that completely shifted my perspective. It was a game-changer, a turning point in my career. Here's what I learned: Yes, the digital marketing market is saturated, no doubt about it. But here's the thing: not all clients are satisfied with the same freelancer. That's where opportunity lies. By honing my skills and continuously developing myself, I realized that there was indeed a niche for me in this vast sea of digital marketers. Clients are always on the lookout for specialists who can offer something unique, something that sets them apart from the rest. So, I decided to focus on developing my skills and expertise in areas that truly resonated with me. Whether it was mastering SEO, diving deep into social media advertising, or perfecting my copywriting craft, I knew that investing in myself was the key to unlocking freelancing opportunities. And you know what? It paid off. As I became more proficient in my chosen niches, I started attracting clients who valued my specific skill set and expertise. The market may be saturated, but there's always room for those who are willing to put in the work and differentiate themselves from the competition. #DigitalMarketing #Freelancing #Opportunity #PersonalGrowth

I earn just RM 5,000 in 4 months of freelancing in digital marketing. Then, I lost it all. I wish I could do more or earn more, but there was nothing I could've done. Here's what actually happened. 1. I took the leap to start my own business, trying to earn more instead having to charge freelance rates. 2. Google messed up their Search algorithm in middle of May 2024 by diversifying their search keywords settings and AI Overview, which they only reveal it in July 2024. 3. Meta rolled out more updates in June 2024 which prioritizes more on product conversion. 4. Advertisers in service industries which rely on leads beginning to suffer towards end of May and June 2024, with conversion rates dropping and lesser quality of leads. 5. I had mistakenly took the blame for this. There's nothing more I could've done than watching the clients drop the contract one by one. It was a hard lesson to take for me. I took the blame for something which I couldn't control. But with every feedback, I learn how to solve the issues. As I am writing this, my tears started to fall down my cheek. Why? Because I knew I was right all along. I told my clients about the latest changes and how it will affect their advertising expectations. I told the company I was freelancing with about this too. But at that time, I don't have the data to show as it was very recent. So, they think I'm a bluff. As time goes on, more and more writers and marketers started to feel the pinch. SEO, SEM or Paid Ads, you named it. Even organic reach are down on LinkedIn as well. There's nothing more I could do but just to adapt, learn and move on. Countless hours of sleepless nights later, I've finally learn to let it go. That sums up my freelancing journey so far. #digitalmarketing #freelancing #career #jobs #businesses #leads

If you're starting out your career in Digital Marketing, freelancing with multiple clients might seem appealing. But from my experience, gaining some Agency experience first can be incredibly beneficial. Here’s why I believe starting at an agency can be a game-changer: 1) Getting the chance to work with clients from different industries helps you grasp a variety of markets and consumer behaviors, which is super valuable as you progress in your career. 2) You'll gain hands-on experience with multiple platforms like Google Ads and social media, which are essential for any digital marketer. 3) Agencies have tried-and-tested strategies, helping you learn the best practices and avoid common mistakes. 4) Being surrounded by experienced professionals who can offer guidance is priceless. Plus, collaborating with a team of skilled marketers accelerates your learning and growth. 5) Agency life helps you develop strong work habits, from time management to juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Freelancing is rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming without a solid foundation. Starting at an agency helps you build it. So, what do you think? Are agencies the better choice for starting out, or is freelancing the way to go for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts! #DigitalMarketing #AgencyLife #Freelancing #LearningJourney

Mic drop, right? In this race of hustling, our lives have become side hustles. I mean, how long will we work until... ➝ our backs hurt, ➝ our eyes tear up, ➝ our peace suffers? I get it, the hustle is required to get dreams off the ground, but sometimes just being and not doing is great work for ourselves. Proper rest allows our mind, body, and soul to bounce back fresh. This is the first time in a long time (or possibly ever?) that I am finding peace with doing only as much as is required, learning to stop myself. Sometimes we may get hung up like a smartphone if we are nonstop performing. Rebooting is the only way to start fresh. And oh...thank GOD my profession (being a Digital Marketer and freelancer) gives me the freedom to work wherever and whenever I want. I believe you can't do a good job if your job is the only thing you do. Right, buddy? I hope you'll also shift the approach you work with and decide to choose a profession that gives you this freedom. If you're a freelancer, or you offer creative services and struggle to get clients that can pay you at least N100,000 every month, then you should be reading this post till the end and sharing it when done. As someone who offers creative services, one of the questions I get frequently is, "how do I get clients?" ==== And I'm going to sum it up in 3 steps. - Build an online presence - Develop a valuable skill set - Create your opportunities ==== ➡️ About building an online presence, you want to have social media profiles that showcases your skills, portfolio, and services. And talk about your services regularly. Post about what you do, utilize content marketing, and also paid advertising to promote your services. You also want to attend industry events, join online communities and groups, and connect with potential clients and collaborators. ➡️ On developing a valuable skill set, the reason you're not getting those jobs might just be that you need to improve on your skills. You want to focus on getting better at what you do. Offer your services for free or at a lower rate to work on real time projects and build your portfolio. Deliver high-quality work, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively to build a strong reputation. ➡️ On creating your own opportunities, Don't wait for opportunities to come to you - create your own by reaching out to potential clients and pitching your services. Do a lot of cold marketing to reach out to prospective CLIENTS. (I'd talk about this in my next post, so watch out). Don't be afraid of getting NO. Because, it brings you closer to a YES. ==== Freelancing can be feast or famine, so stay focused and keep marketing yourself even in slow periods. Did you learn something from this post? Don't hesitate to let me know in the comments, and don't forget to hit the share button to help someone out there. ==== My name is Adeboye Adeboye Adedapo David, the virtual assistant and social media manager your business needs. #adeboyedavid

Freelancing in social media isn’t just about creativity—it’s also about balancing the demands of delivering quality work while constantly securing new clients. Here’s the balancing act every freelancer knows all too well: 1️⃣ Delivering Excellence on Every Project: Every client expects top-notch results, and rightfully so! Whether it’s crafting engaging content, analyzing campaign performance, or strategizing the next big move, we’re committed to delivering the best for every brand. The challenge? Staying consistently creative while managing multiple projects at once. 2️⃣ Client Retention vs. Acquisition: Maintaining relationships with existing clients while reaching out for new business is no small feat. Networking, pitching, and building your portfolio is an ongoing process that doesn’t stop even when your plate is full. Every project is an opportunity to showcase what you can do, but also a reminder to think about the next one. Pro tip: Referrals and repeat business are gold for freelancers. When you overdeliver, clients become your biggest advocates! 3️⃣ Navigating the Feast and Famine Cycle: The freelance world is unpredictable. Some months are overflowing with projects, while others are quieter. The challenge is using the busy periods to prep for the quiet ones—whether that means building a solid pipeline of potential clients or strengthening your brand presence. It’s a constant hustle, but it’s also a chance to grow and diversify. 4️⃣ The Art of the Pitch: Winning new clients means putting yourself out there, whether through cold outreach, social media marketing, or networking events. It’s about knowing your value and communicating it effectively. After all, a freelancer isn’t just selling a service—we’re selling our unique expertise, adaptability, and results-driven approach. 🔄 What I’ve learned: The key to success is balancing deliverables with business development. It’s about managing your current workload while always keeping one eye on future opportunities. 📣 Are you a freelancer or hiring one? What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to balancing client delivery and new business? #FreelancerLife #ClientAcquisition #ContentCreation #SocialMediaMarketing #FreelanceChallenges
