10 Years of TwentyFour! 🥳🎂 Today marks 10 Years of the TwentyFour IT Services Ltd brand! Whilst the company has been around for much longer than this, today marks 10 years since Tony rebranded the business as TwentyFour after seeing a significant shift in the industry to require a more 24/7 approach to #ITsupport & #CyberSecurity in many different markets. What a journey the business has been on this past 10 years! Starting with winning the #SmallBusinessOfTheYear award in its first year of the new brand in 2014, back then we had only 9 team members operating out of our Doncaster office. In the following years Michael would join the company as Managing Director, bringing finance and working with Tony to create a growth strategy for the future of the business. Over the next few years, leading up to and through the pandemic, the business would continue to grow at increasing paces throughout the local area and in key markets due to our highly tailored approach to business support. Taking the time to understand each business and their own growth goals so that we can best support them to achieve those goals. In 2023 TwentyFour outgrew its old offices at Heather Court and moved into its new offices at #DoncasterLakeside where it continued to grow its team, and is also when I entered the story here joining the team as #MarketingManager. Throughout 2024 we have continued to grow at increasing paces, further increasing our user support base by an additional 25% over 2023, supporting nearly 300 clients across 16 countries, expanding our team to just shy of 50 across 3 different offices, with adverts currently live to expand that again, leading us to be recognised as a “Medium Business” (commonly referred to as 50-249 employees) as we enter 2025. But, 10 years after winning Small Business of the Year in the 2014 Doncaster Business Awards, we are again finalists in the 2024 #DoncasterBusinessAwards in 3 key categories; #CustomerService, #Campaign & Partnership of the Year! What an amazing journey the business has been on this past 10+ years, and I am super proud to be along for the ride as we enter this next phase! I participated in an excellent workshop yesterday, delivered by BDO and courtesy of #BEDA of the Brisbane City Council - financial forecasting. When you think of financial forecasting, you immediately go to numbers. At least I do. ‘Need to make more money’. But what I found refreshing, was the emphasis on clarifying your business and personal objectives / goals before putting a budget and pricing together. So it made me question, in light of the Woolworthes CEO stepping down and the #TaylorSwift Era tour madness, is it all just about money? For woollies, as a public company, there is obviously a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to maximise profits. Perhaps that measure needs to be reviewed? Clearly the public and customers aren’t happy with the way that’s been delivered and the impact it’s had on #australianfarmers. Taylor Swift? How much more money does she need? Really!? Her sell out T-shirts merchandise go for $65 - wiping out young people savings, on top of pricey concert tix. How much did that T-shirt cost? How much did the person who made that T-shirt get? I have a sound understanding💡She is a young female #icon - role model? As an #adaptiveclothing fashion label owner, I understand the imperative to include #COGS and OpEx in your pricing. Have we not progressed enough yet as a society to prioritise other criteria for business (other than cumulative wealth)? - especially when there is so much #waste, #eniviromentaldamage and #consumerism. Not a total lefty - but regulations and norms are meant progress as society does. Feels like we’re stuck?

The most devastating thing about the Al Fayad scandal? 😣 It’s how the behaviour of one predator at the top of an organisation, was enabled and facilitated by an organisational culture. How a brand that was meant to represent aspiration to millions of visitors to the UK, had a culture of fear and abuse hidden at its heart for so many years. 🙊🙉🙈 That’s what’s really scary, and sad. For the many women who were victims of Al Fayad, but also for all the customers who had no idea they were supporting an organisation that was prepared to hide such serious abuse for so long. As a culture research practitioner, I believe it’s fundamental that the current internal investigation at Harrods be far reaching. The organisation should initiate a period of listening, and not rush to settlements. Not only for the optics, but for the sake of building a new culture for the future. If damaged organisations are to survive, the culture must be rebuilt from the ground up. 🌱 Personally, I’d drop the name completely - and initiate a real transformation in internal processes and brand. 👋 A good culture takes a long time to build back from the ruins of such a serious and high profile scandal.
