Last week I met the self-proclaimed GWOAT (greatest woman of all time), Clarissa Shields. She is a two time Olympic champion, three time undisputed champion, five weight world champion and has held 15 different world championship belts! A truly remarkable and trail blazing achievement. She was really quite lovely, and it was a pleasure to meet her. When she was introduced to the room it was as the GWOAT and you can see her understated necklace saying the same thing. As a lesson in comms she is also a masterclass. Sometimes you need to tell people what you want them to know not what you do. Don’t wait for them to make up their own mind, tell them at every opportunity. Clarissa is a great speaker and in every interview I have seen with her she doesn’t refer to herself as a multiple weight boxing champ (which she is) she refers to herself as the GWOAT (what she wants to be known as). She has done this so well that if you say GWOAT to a boxing fan, they will know who you are referring to and it is how she is now introduced in interviews and events. The same should be applied to your business. If you have a message you want to be known for, ensure it is all you should talk about, it should be in every email, presentation and piece of comms. At Berkeley Communications North America we are known for our prowess at storytelling. We are very proud of it and at every opportunity we like to communicate this. It isn’t just a buzz word for us. We are the only agency to have a CPD verified storytelling course and methodology which has been used to help countless B2B and tech companies take dry topics and help them resonate with the media. So….What do you want to be known for and are you doing enough to reinforce the message with you audience? If you need any assistance with this, get in touch. P.S. anyone know where I can buy a diamond encrusted necklace saying ‘storyteller’? I think it would be a solid look that I could absolutely pull off. Chris Hewitt - do you want one too? I will expense it.
Fantastic, so cool. As for your necklace on order, if anyone can pull it of then you can :)
