We seem to live in an age where you can't leave any social media platform without announcing it. There's some on the artist formerly known as twitter who have been saying they are leaving for 5 years. I'm still there mainly as I don't think leaving a bunch of Trump voting, climate denying , gun toting cowboys in a room alone together is a great idea. Otherwise you end up with the Daily Mail. Or your average tech company Sales Meeting! (joking) Nevertheless I am, corporately and personally, leaving LinkedIn. It's adding nothing to my life or business, doesn't really make me happier and I learn about 2 things I didn't know a year..The rest is just noise and it's a noisy world. So when you see I've disappeared I haven't just disconnected from you because I don't like you. I've disconnected from everyone (and probably still don't like you!). You can still however get me on X , Bluesky (soon) and even Facebook with the rest of the senior citizens. Or, and I know this is wild, I'm on email. [email protected] and mobile 07985 433 996. I'm even available live and in person most days in a little office in Falkirk High Street typing by a fading light and shouting "you boy what year is it" to bemused passers by.
Your candid business posts are a breath of fresh air to this platform and your humour will be missed…I’m one of the lucky ones I’ve got your facsimile number
This is a genuine shame, your insights and honesty about running a business and the wider industry as a whole are absolutely on the money and when I see a new post from you I immediately read it and always (almost) agree with everything you say . Please don't go.
How sad, but I'm prepared to pick up the flag and run with it in your absence. I changed my headline to say I'm Scrumptious! as a nod to the "I'm Delicious" Garron https://www.facebook.com/hanaku.mench/videos/1213186676769227 but no ones said a peep LOL!
Oh yes, my parents have told me about Facebook :-) Merry Christmas and see you in the new year Paul!
Helping people and organisations achieve the remarkable with IT.
1dPaul Ryan, I’m sorry to read you’re leaving and as Tim Bond mentioned it already, I will also miss your honesty. I hope to seek you out on Falkirk High Street if only to offer you my latest year announcement service but I will draw the line on running to get a turkey for one of your employees. Before you depart, tarry a while and see whether there is any redeeming cathartic benefit to this platform. If not, perhaps we will see one another on Bluesky although I fear my tenure there is likely limited: it doesn't feel different to another platform to which is could be compared. My thanks for your past posts is all I can offer.
