I've been considering getting my first EV for over a year. Yesterday while watching the Eagles beat the Steelers 🦅 I saw a commercial for the GMC Sierra EV and it looked amazing. I hadn't thought that my first EV could be a pickup (I've never owned a pickup) but why not bundle two firsts into one? One reason could be the 100k price tag. We're covering a story in the ASOTU | More Than Cars morning show that gives the rundown on the top 10 EVs by range. If range is your primary consideration, there seems to be a sweet spot. 10 - Tesla Model X AWD – 335 miles | Starting at $79,990 9 - Mercedes EQS SUV – 339 miles | Starting at $104,400 8 - Mercedes EQS Sedan – 352 miles | Starting at $104,400 7 - Hyundai IONIQ 6 – 361 miles | Starting at $37,500 6 - Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD – 363 miles | Starting at $42,490 5 - Tesla Model S AWD – 402 miles | Starting at $74,900 4 - Rivian R1S Adventure Dual Max – 410 miles | Starting at $89,990 3 - Rivian R1T Adventure Dual Max – 420 miles | Starting at $93,800 2 - Chevrolet Silverado EV First-Edition RST – 440 miles | Starting at $96,495 1 - Lucid Air Grand Touring – 516 miles | Starting at $110,900 Which EV would you recommend? #ev #automotiveindustry #evs #electricvehicle
Paul J Daly, Kia has a $249 lease on the EV6 AWD. I've spent time in the EV6, and it's great. It's also been highly rated in tests by C&D, Consumer Reports, and others. Up to 310 mi. range, up to 576 hp, 800V system for fast DC charging, 5 yr/10 yr warranty, from $42,600. Range is over-rated, given that Americans drive only 40 miles a day on average. Lastly, if you go new, lease - do not buy. Good luck!
Used Lucid GT’s can be found for a good price with under 20k miles and warranty. The R1S is a great option and has a lot of storage. The model 3 is the best bang for the money. Model X is cool but the doors get annoying in certain situations. Model S has lifetime charging if you want to use public charging a lot.
First, go birds 🦅 Second the Kia EV9 should be on this list
Forgot the Model Y. I have the 3 and wouldn’t do it again. I live in NE and the roads are garbage, as a result have had a lot of tire issues. I think the Y starts around 50k and has decent range. Me personally I could never wrap my around around spending more than 50k on a liability, unless you can write it off.
Please stop it. Paul J Daly. Please. Just get a Subaru. Gas or EV. If it has to it will save your life if necessary and last forever. Please.
My first question would be, what do you need a truck for? If range, space, performance, experience are all things you expect, the only EV that checks all of those boxes and then some is Lucid. No compromises.
You can get a used Fisker Ocean for $25K... just sayin 🤷♂️
We just bought a MachE a few months ago. Never in a million years did I think I would have an EV, but we love it. We have taken one long road trip and worked out great. Our stop was at a Buc-ee’s and of course, you can spend 30-45 mins in there while the car charged on a fast charger. Zero issues thus far. If you are going to pull the trigger, I’d do it sooner than later with the EV credits likely disappearing when the new administration comes into the office.

4dLease it.. save the massive depreciation. GM has fantastic deals on Hummer and Sierra (DRAC +Costco). The technology and driveability of either one is unreal good. Hope this helps Paul. Oh and we have them available 😁!!
