The third video of the series ( understanding energy). This video explains the world of nonrenewable energy sources. Non-renewable energy sources are those that do not replenish or take a very long time to replenish in nature, making them finite and limited. The most common types of non-renewable energy are fossil fuels, which include coal, petroleum, and natural gas. These resources were formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals over millions of years under high pressure and heat in the Earth’s crust. Coal is a solid fossil fuel used primarily for electricity generation and steel production. Petroleum products, derived from crude oil, are used to make gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other chemicals. Natural Gas, often found alongside oil, is used for heating, cooking, and electricity generation. The main advantages of non-renewable energy are their energy density and ease of transport and storage. However, their extraction and use have significant environmental impacts, including air and water pollution and contribution to climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions. Did you know that #ammonia can produce power free of CO2 emissions? Either through direct combustion, or through a cracking system that re-converts ammonia into #hydrogen, which can then be used in a hydrogen-enabled gas turbine. Ammonia's ability to produce clean power on its own as well as aid in the transportation of hydrogen through the value chain gives it vast potential to become a key component in the energy transition. This is why the global market for ammonia is set to triple by 2050 from 2020 levels. Discover more ways #MitsubishiPower is developing the technology that will bring ammonia to the forefront of the #energytransition. #ammonia #decarbonization #hydrogen #movetheworldforward #innovationthatdelivers https://lnkd.in/e_qUravR
