Having been in the security industry for what seems like an eternity ( feels like that sometimes!) I often wonder if under cutting your rivals by a significant amount is ultimately the logical thing to do? Some will still have their keyholding services at a very low amount which to a prospective client is very favourable, but is charging for urgent work only once ( even if your stuck on site for more than 1 hour) really the right thing to do? After all you are there to provide a service and being held on one location that is impacting other work should come at a cost, if your stuck on a task for 75+ minutes then surely you should bill accordingly? Some seem quite happy to lose potential revenue just so they can show they are the cheapest in the area , I wonder if that’s the right thing these days? Having seen over the years that offering the cheapest service in the area maybe a good thing and yes it may pull in lots of work but having the man power to cover that work is a must. In charging for work there’s cheap and there’s also “too cheap!”. Personally I think the company I’m work with now has got it right in how we do things, what will 2025 bring? SPOILERS!
