FREE FX MANUAL FROM LEHMAN. Another chance to get hold of this sort after manual. I was reading it only yesterday and many of the insights you can glean still stand up in today's world. What I also love about are the chapters on Options and Swaps. Then there is of course the gold on Forwards. As a non bank trader I never used FWDS only outright Futures so looking at how to calculate the points was a real eye opener when i started to read it over 10 years ado. Part of the problem is that the banks and the asset managers are not clearly incentivised to move to a better model. Banks do well out of fixes in general. Asset managers mostly get paid just on assets under management so are not focused on performance unless it wins them more assets. However, they own all the costs of operational shifts and operational errors if they move to a new system. Hence, the impetus for change is most likely to come from asset owners or an innovative asset manager who recognises there is money being left on the table and they can win market share. At NCFX, we’ve taken steps to address these issues by producing benchmark rates in both spot and forwards because we believe that transparency fosters efficiency and facilitates automation. We’ve collaborated with partners like Siren FX to offer an alternative to WM in spot rates, and we're continuously working to enhance this solution, fully aware that the barriers to change remain significant.
