As at end 2023, the total existing retail space in Malaysia stood at 190.4mil sq ft (based on Property Market Report 2023), of which 147.3mil sq ft were occupied. Selangor dominated the existing retail space, accounting for 22% of Malaysia’s total existing supply followed by Kuala Lumpur at 19% and Johor at 14%. The total incoming supply for Malaysia as at end 2023 stood at 12.1mil sq ft.
