In my experience, recognizing and addressing when we've hurt or upset someone, especially in a teacher-student dynamic, can truly make a huge difference. This is an excerpt from my book "Happy & Resilient" where I discuss the significance of this simple, yet powerful act! https://amzn.to/3P68GnW #HappyAndResilient #ApologiesMatter #emotionalintelligence #Education #Educators

I’ve been a fan of Jamie Clark’s resources for quite some time, so I couldn’t wait to get his just published first book: Teaching One Pagers. Evidence-Informed Summaries for Busy Educational Professionals. His one pagers cover three main themes: Learning and Memory, Expert Teaching Principles, Classroom Culture, and this what I love about them: 📌 research-based 📌 concise and clear 📌 good prompts to go deeper into the topics I know I’ll make very good use of this book 🙂. #teaching #learning #education

Reimagining Education: We Need Life-long Readers! 1. Ever secretly read under your desk because the teacher was boring and you *had* to finish your book? 2. Ever been scolded for reading at the dinner table? 3. Ever read under the covers after being told to go to bed? If you or a child you know said YES to any of these, then the love for reading is already alive and well! But here's the thing—our goal shouldn’t just be teaching fluency and comprehension. We need to ignite joy, passion, and excitement in reading! We want students to LOVE it! Reading isn't just a subject; it's a life skill, a gateway to understanding the world, and a foundation for becoming an engaged, thoughtful adult. In today's fast-paced world, convincing young people of this can be a challenge—but it's a challenge worth taking on. A love of reading fosters open-mindedness, empathy, and the ability to share and discuss great ideas. It’s the key to growing into someone truly special. Let’s make sure every child finds that spark! #LoveForReading #LifelongLearners #RaiseAReader #ReadingMatters #EducationForLife

I love this reference book by Jamie Clark. It covers so much on pedagogy and practice, and sets out each concept clearly and in a way that information can be easily absorbed. The best thing about Jamie's work is that everything he writes is based on solid evidence and research. He has put the time and energy in, so that educators can put their trust in his findings and applications. This is a really welcome addition to any educator's bookshelf. #teachingonepagers #jamieclark #evidence #pedagogyandpractice

March is National Reading Month! It’s hard to overstate the importance of reading. Poring over books enhances cognition, lengthens attention span, and deepens empathy. But reading serves an even more foundational purpose: It’s the skill students must have to explore every other subject. Want to help your teachers establish best practices for reading instruction? Dr. Pratima Gurung‘𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞. Her ideas inject joy into learning. Her tips for creativity are brilliant. Her "intentional teaching" method is genius. It transformed the way I approach my teaching. She recommends ten simple steps any teacher can use. This book has no confusing jargon. You can feel her energy and excitement. Dr. Gurung writes like she's your friend. Her stories make the concepts clear and relatable. Education isn't just test scores. It's about curiosity and loving to learn. This book helps teachers create that environment. And to make sure their students stay excited to learn. ********* "𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦" 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝. https://lnkd.in/grq4Fzep https://lnkd.in/grq4Fzep
