OVERDUE Life update: After finishing up a rich year at Stanford University followed by a summer with the Nevada Clean Energy Fund, I recently took on a full-time role as a Managing Director at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Sustainability is vast (beyond climate change), complex, and often misunderstood. I get to work on making sustainability knowledge accessible for everyone in the world. And we aspire to go further, toward real engagement and action at a global scale. As one of the first initiatives, I'm leading a Global Sustainability Challenge that aims to mobilize youth talent and creativity for sustainability challenges in their communities. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect intersection of my background and interests across education, technology, innovation, and sustainability. All the while, working with incredibly mission-driven and supportive humans our team (Dave Weinstein, Jennifer Gardner, Anita Wood), visionary school leadership (Dr. Arun Majumdar, Jennifer Calvert, Ph.D. Chuck Litchfield), incredible thought partners across campus (Matthew Rascoff, Drew Endy Keegan Cooke Heidi Chang Chris Agnew to name a few), top of their craft faculty (too many to name here), a global slate of partners, and co-teaching with (more like learning from) giants in environment and energy (Jim Leape Matt Rogers Richard Kauffman Pulakesh Mukherjee William Chueh). I'm grateful for you all. May you too find purpose and fulfillment in whatever you choose to pursue, and leave the world a little better with it. Happy Thanksgiving!
Great to see this Parul. Congrats and keep going! I think a conversation with Nihal Ahmed on Limitless Institute and his team at https://bevisioneers.world/ would be very valuable.
Have been waiting to congratulate :) 🎉

Sustainability as you point out, is beyond climate change - getting real action and impact is hard and needs transformative change on many levels! Happy to know your brain and heart will be working in this space ♥️. Looking forward to the magic you shall weave!
Parul Gupta wonderful and congratulations! Where can we find the details about your challenge? I know a few young folks who think of purpose and sustainability and might be inspired.

2wThis is a wonderful news Parul! I was thinking you might move towards a role that shapes governmental policy towards sustainability as I sort of assumed governments can impact sustainability through policy changes much more than individuals. But equally, if the aim is to impact a large number of individuals especially youth, then I can imagine how much impact that can create as well. As always looking forward to a conversation to understand how you arrived at this choice of a career and what's your vision!
