Magical customer experiences can be found in surprising places. Buc-ee's, Ltd. is a great example - they've reinvented the gas station experience, making it impossible to leave without purchasing multiple items. 🥤 👕 🍖 🍼 🍪 🍭 Assortment curation ➕ cheerful & clean atmosphere ➕ valve gas = LOYALTY! These large stores offer customers "food theater", think fresh brisket being sliced, endless snacks & beverages including a slushy wall, and giftables where you can find last minute baby gifts and logo'd merchandise (their branded swim trunks are quite the conversation starter). I never leave with out at least 3 items, sometimes more than 5 🤷♀️, always a rice crispy treat. 🔥 This business is going to keep scaling bc customers love it and it's profitable. I also like that they pay staff above market and visibly market this inside to help with staffing. 🙂 Their founder attributes success to "making previously unenjoyable tasks during road trips — stopping to go to the restroom, finding food or getting gas — something people look forward to." #futureofcustomerexperiences #futureofretail #convenience #retail #cx

I don't know what "neighborhood" vibe Applebees was going for (this was nothing like my upbringing), or who deemed them "eating good" but I will say back in the ol' college days of utter brokeness...their cheap late night happy hour gave me some good memories I still carry. 2. Dollar Tree thank you for providing my parents a life time of things to fill my stocking with at Christmas. 3. The classy experience of shopping at a Macy's back in the day took someone like me who doesn't like to shop, and made me want to buy things I didn't even need. Also they were a standout for employees who took massive pride in their careers there. 4. Have I been to an Outback in awhile...no. Does a bloomin' onion sound like a tasty stomach ache...absolutely! 5. CVS and Walgreens...maybe it's a good thing to not have people get their meds, vitamins and health goods at the same place they can pick up their cartons of smokes. 6. Bed Bath and Beyond...your clearance area almost always had broken products, not so worth it even discounted (way to get my hopes up)...but I did leave in awe of nice kitchen stuff, cookie sheets not covered in rust and years of baked in oil markings...while discovering a world of matching dishes that brought me a level of zen compared to the cupboards growing up of random hodgepodge. Soooo many kitchen tools that didn't include needing a tetanus shot. 7. The most important one... In all seriousness, where do you think these stores inventory goes? What happens to it? My child prefers to #buy his favorite candy from a particular convenience store even though there is another store located very close to it. To understand why, I observed the #procedure of both stores. At the first store, the clerk puts a pile of candy on the scale and removes the excess to achieve the desired weight. At the second store, the clerk puts a small amount of candy and keeps adding more until the desired weight is reached. In both cases, the weight of the candy is ultimately the same. However, my child perceives that there is more candy in the second store, even though it is not the case. The moral of the story is that the #product itself is not the most important aspect. It is how the product is presented and #sold that matters. #Sales #marketing
