Alexander: “The quality requirements in the automotive market are certainly higher than in the stationary storage market. Another difference lies in the format and weight of the modules and packs. Vehicle batteries come in a wide variety of formats, while stationary batteries are currently settling at 19-inch rack sizes. These requirements naturally have an impact on the production facilities, although the basic processes and cell handling are very similar. For example, traceability and repeatability are important to ensure driver safety and to minimize product liability issues.
