Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the Launch Ceremony of the IR Best Practices Guideline in Muscat, and was privileged to deliver a Keynote Speech and Workshop in front of a bustling trading floor filled with representatives from local listed companies, all in the esteemed presence of H.E. Ibtisam Bint Ahmed Bin Said Al-Farooq, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce of #Oman. This project, initiated under the leadership of my predecessor, John Gollifer, is the result of over 18 months of dedicated collaboration between #MEIRA and Muscat Stock Exchange S.A.O.C, a journey that began with a survey of market practitioners in Oman, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks within the local market. The guidelines build on the foundation laid by the #ESG Guidelines introduced by #MSX in 2023 and highlights our shared commitment to raising the standards of IR across the region. It is a testament to the vision and leadership of Haitham Al Salmi (CEO at #MSX), and the entire MSX team, who are working tirelessly to advance IR practices in Oman. #MSX and #MEIRA hope this guide will serve as a valuable resource for Omani issuers across sectors, helping them confidently and purposefully navigate the complexities of investor engagement.
