The other day, I posted about the challenges of operating an esports platform as a business, especially in finding a sustainable business model. The post sparked a valuable discussion with different perspectives on the topic. However, I think we overlooked one model that often works. Integrating an esports platform or its components as an add on to an already established business. The idea is to introduce competitive gaming elements as part of gamification, which generally adds value for both users and customers. A specific use case might be a CS2 skins marketplace that’s already profitable adding an extra module for esports competitions. Expected outcomes: better customer retention, increased engagement, cross-promotion opportunities, brand diversification, and an enhanced loyalty program. Overall, this approach could create a more robust and differentiated ecosystem. GGWP NaVi, till next time :) How was the viewership? 756 764 peak viewers, according to Esports Charts & Streams Charts G2 Esports taking 3 out of the TOP5 most watched matches, including the most watched one. Generally speaking, there are two ways you can run esports team. You focus on performance. You grind and you get visibility by winning. If you lose your level, you're cooked. Or You focus on content. You have a lot of content creators, memes etc. And you have the team or multiple teams just as a vehicle. And then there's G2 Esports. Most watched, most entertaining, winning titles left and right, while always authentic to their brand. Millions are watching because they love them. Millions are watching because they want to see them lose. But everyone is watching. Period. Emotions are the core of esports. If viewers don't care, why should anyone else? The picture attached to this post is a simple example. You could create a boring infographic with match result. Or you could spark emotions by using such copy that G2 did 😎
