Several measures are taken to mitigate the risks associated with earthquakes which include expansion of Seismic Monitoring Networks to ensure timely detection on earthquakes and dissemination of alerts, assigning the building codes by BIS for earthquake-resistant design and construction, particularly in high-risk zones, conducting awareness and Training Programs to educate the public about earthquake preparedness, including drills and awareness campaigns by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) under Ministry of Home Affairs, and developing emergency response and disasters management plans at state and district-level.

Breakthrough in Earthquake Prediction: Model Accurately Predicts 5.0M Earthquake in the Falkland Islands Dear Colleagues and Disaster Risk Reduction Experts, I am excited to share a significant breakthrough in earthquake prediction technology. Our model has successfully predicted a 5.0M earthquake in the Falkland Islands region, with remarkable precision in both location and timing. Key Points: Accurate Prediction: The model pinpointed the location of the earthquake 1 hour before it occurred. Prediction video recorded at 8:22 UTC+1h ( it means 9:22 UTC+2 time Zone): https://lnkd.in/grQ_uDMm Confirmation video (earthquake 5.0 happened at indicated location at 10:20 UTC+2h time Zone ) - this means it was 1h after I recorded model prediction video: https://lnkd.in/gRPQKQVa [Comment to time calculations] - actually in summer Zurich is UTC+2 zone so I predicted an earthquake not 1 hour earlier but 2 hours earlier! Which makes this method even better! Implications: This success demonstrates the potential of our model to revolutionize earthquake prediction and disaster risk reduction strategies globally. Call for Collaboration: Given this compelling evidence, I am reaching out to the international scientific community, disaster management agencies, and relevant organizations for collaboration. Our goal is to further validate, refine, and implement this technology to save lives and mitigate the impact of earthquakes worldwide. Integration with existing early warning systems. This breakthrough aligns with the UNDRR's Global Assessment Report 2025 on "Financing and Investing for Our Future," offering a tangible solution for reducing disaster risks and building resilience. I invite interested parties to contact me at [email protected] to discuss potential collaboration, data sharing, and further testing of this groundbreaking technology. Let's work together to create a safer, more resilient world. Ai estimated possible cost-saving and value of technology a potential value range of $2 trillion to $4 trillion is it mostly savings that this technology will allow within the next several years - and of course, additional savings a lot of people's lives and souls will be possible which is priceless.

Two earthquakes shook up the south coast of BC earlier this month, and with today's Great ShakeOut BC—a campaign to help people and businesses practice their earthquake drills and responses—how ready are you? Take a look at this recent post for some tips about what you can do to be better prepared: https://lnkd.in/gGvHcbb5 If your business is potentially at risk from an earthquake or other natural disaster, contact an Alliance safety advisor for advice and assistance with emergency response planning. We can get you started with a detailed template, help you plan a drill, and answer whatever questions you may have about the process. . . . #emergencypreparedness #earthquake #BCearthquake #safetyatwork #safetyfirst

This is a reminder of how important it is to maintain data and information baselines for critical infrastructure...and more.
This morning's earthquake in Taiwan is one of the reasons why maintaining regular SAR baselines city buildings and infrastructures is necessary. Interferometry isn't just for understanding the landmass pressures. It's is a cheap and effective way to support disaster management planning. SAR interferometry (a.k.a inSAR) measures millimeter changes to a structure (building, bridge, dam - you name it). We can also measure subsidence. During earthquakes liquefaction is a big problem. If you are a city planner, first responder, or disaster manager, structural deformation is something you want to know ASAP. Some people think that utilizing inSAR on buildings is too expensive or too new. inSAR has been used for well over a decade and it is only getting cheaper! Why? Large factories in Taiwan and elsewhere around the world rely on inSAR's precision. Multiple SAR constellations in orbit today and competition is fierce. Given that Taiwan is often overcast, that doesn't stop SAR. You can image anytime you want. SAR sees through the darkness and weather. Quick summary: 1) Can measure structural change 2) measure subsidence 3) image through weather and darkness 4) 24x7x365 SAR is one of the most powerful tools a disaster management team or city planner can have in their disposal. Our thoughts go to the people of Taiwan. As always, ingeniSPACE stands ready to support Taiwan and its people. #TaiwanStrong #disastermangement #inSAR #syntheticapertureradar
